I'm currently at 185 lbs about 18.5% body fat and 19 yrs old. I'm looking to cut down a solid 5+%. My diet as of now is around 2000 cals 50 g of fat, only about 10 g of sat fat, the rest is mono/polyunsaturated fat. I eat around 240-250 g of prot a day and around 110 g of carbs. My diet is fairly steady at these amounts plus 120+ ounces of water a day. I workout 4 times a week and try to do cardio when I have time and am not too sore to do it, which is usually 2-3 times a week jogging a mile or 2. Now im looking to cut down and I used Anadrox by MHP before and i liked the extra pump it gave me but now I wanna focus more on fat burn then the pump. Anyone have a good experience with any products?

If you haven't been there, then it's like trying to describe color to a person who's been blind since birth. Within this haze of pleasure and pain, there's knowledge and power, self-discipline and self-reliance."

I am currently using Cellucor's D4 Thermal Shock. I did the Hydroxycut Hardcore thing, it was aight. With HH I found that i would get this caffine buzz, a high heart rate, and a little extra sweat. With the D4 I am finding that i sweat a whole lot more than before. I have also changed my diet considerably as well. I would actually recommend the HIIT cardio, i have lost around 15 lbs in 3 weeks between the diet, cardio, and suppliments. Good luck!

fat burners are not legit man, just take green tea extract, keep a good diet, do some cardio, train hard and results will come. I have used hydroxycut, and arson, and i can honestly say they are not as effective as some believe

If your diet is constantly the same - as you wrote it - your metabolism will end up shutting down... I can guarantee you your fat loss will come to a screeching halt, especially if you increase your cardio to try to effectuate a change.
At 185lbs - I would try to hit 350-400g of protein per day... for your carbs, I would try to cycle them - 4 days low, 1 day high. If you are at 110g of carbs now, try 100g for your LOW days ... then, 400g on your high day... keep your fats extremely low on your high day, and then whatever you were doing with them on your lows (50g?)
You don't want to be eating your fats on your high carb days - spiking your insulin levels, adding in fat - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out
What this will do is keep enough protein in your body to stop you from burning your muscle while you are doing cardio... the lower carbs will keep your blood sugar levels low - keeping you in a great state for fat burning - you will, if done right - drop about 1 to 1.5lbs per 4 day cycle.
why 400g on the 5th day? To reboost your metabolism. If you constantly have low carbs - your body will shut down (granted, there are other diets with low carbs, but they are high fat - I'm basing my advice off what you have listed)
you metabolism will continue to crank through the 4 low days - and then before it slows down - you refuel it with a high day - and then start the process again.
This is a very effective way for burning the fat on your body. If you stick with it - you'll get there in no time (several months)
As for fat burners - I'm partial to Lipo6 Multiphase, hyperdrive, hot rox, and clen-tekPersonal Trainer - San Diego - ACSM, ISSA-CPT, ISSA-SPN, NASM, NESTA and AFTA Certified.

I used Hot Rox Extreme and it seemed to help me quite a bit, however i am still struggling on key areas such as my stomach (tire) and under my armpits where i have extra dropping flab (lat area).
Im 5'9 and 200lbs. I was about 3 yrs ago 240 at my highest ever. 1 year ago i dropped to 185lbs my lowest since highschool. I'd like to get back to 185lbs.
My diet is consistent, almost exactly the same each day.
Breakfast (7-8am) - 1/3cup instant oats/protein shake
Snack 10am - apple, plum or tangerine
Lunch 12pm - Cold cut sandwich on whole wheat or rye, salad, and fruit.
Snack 2:30pm - almonds (handful), apple, plum, tangerine or yogurt
Dinner 6pm - chicken, cup brown rice, veggies.
Snack - 9pm - protein shake.
My breakfast/lunch/snacks are pretty consistent. Is this a problem since its almost the same things everyday?
Im having trouble eliminating fat from around my belly button and just under my armpits. No matter how hard I try and how different the exercises are it just wont go away. Ive struggled with this since I was 16years and im now 28 years old. Ive been working out for the last 2 years with hardly any luck to reduce those 2 key areas. Ive gotten to the point where I am doing P90X routines to change up the mix and add some aerobic into the exercise.
Any help, recommendations on routine and diet is greatly appreciated. Im geting married in September so im trying to look my best.

You could try ephedrine and caffeine. People shy away from mentioning it, but it sounds like it's one of the safer ways to go (simple, and fewer unregulated ingredients), and it's been proven effective. They're both stimulants, but I think that's something you're going to have to deal with no matter which route you go, assuming you want something with noticeable results.
I can't personally vouch for it since I haven't tried it (I'm starting on it this week), but there's a lot of evidence that supports its efficacy and it has a large following on this forum and elsewhere.
...and it's cheap.
I just thought I'd throw that out there, since no one else has in this thread yet.
The one fat burner I've actually tried is Lean XTreme. Although I lost quite a bit of fat during that period, I also worked hard and so I can't attribute any of my gains to these pills. This is the problem with anectodal evidence, which is especially pervasive in this industry. So until you find some solid statistics (and you can, in the case of ephedrine/caffeine), save your money.Last edited by bifodus; 04-18-2009 at 10:46 PM.
