There was a teabag party by the Ron Paul fanatics last year. Bush was very much still in office.

I agree that this 'teabagging' **** has been done by very mainstream Republicans, with lots of neocons in the mix. And OP, there isn't a lot of difference between Bush and Obama when looking beyond a surface level. Still lots of nanny corporatism, lots of war going forward. I don't think we'd see much different under today's circumstances if Bush were still in office with this current Congress.

My initial reaction is that they were always there, just not grouping together and protesting in the cities. It takes some good deal of effort to organize these things, make contacts, and so forth. I don't believe these are newfound beliefs on the tax system we have in this country, which is to say, the 'teabaggers' were always there, and they were merely waiting for the government to cross the line. Bailing out annointed businesses run by left-wing ilk using taxpayer dollars was the drop the made the bucket spill over.

I can tell you my point of view.

Bush came into office, we had 911, then the war. because of this I made a lot of exceptions for his policies. by the 2006 elections I was very disillusioned by the republicans. I felt like I no longer had a political party. when the dems took over congress it started to appear that the dems were doing the things I hated about the republicans but on steroids. Now with what Obama has done in the last 4 months I realize that if we don't take back our country soon we will never be able to.
There a lot of things I do not agree with on the libertarian party, but I agree with 99 percent of what the libertarians that post here. This makes me think that it is time to give this party a serious looking at.
