I plan on cutting, but i was wondering if i drink 3 protein shakes a day with glutamine, i reckon i should be able to loose fat, by cardio and a clean diet. But still gain muscle because of weight lifting and a high protein intake.
is this true?

You can still most certainly gain muscle while cutting, just not at a considerably high pace or rate. Especially during your first month or so of lifting when you're still making newb gains, you'll see muscle increase as well as a fat decrease at the same time.
As time progresses, though, the results will be negligible and you will generally lose more muscle than you gain while cutting after you have trained for a while. The most important opponent you will ever face in life is your mind.
Nothing can stop you faster than yourself.
