flat barbell benching does it for me. i prefer a very small incline when i bench. feels much better

very very rarely. it happens about 60% of the time on flat barbell benching. i think lifting slow and controlled as well as warming up minimize it, or it could just be in my mind.
offtopic perhaps...
if i flex my calves so the heel drops, toes raise, and calve muscle flex (while keeping my leg straight) and then do a leg curl my calf pops. weird.Last edited by otrebmu; 09-28-2008 at 08:32 AM.

I voted "no" because I never get them while lifting or in the larger joints. My shoulders and elbows are either silent or sometimes make very soft noises - no clicks or crackles.
However, I can make my thumbs and fingers crackle or click every once in a while. I can annoy people with my thumbs!
44 y.o. female - never any serious lifting injuries but haven't been lifting all that long. Have been doing distance walking for several years though.
You should ask about knees also. No trouble here, but I hear people (both males and females but they're usually over 40) talk about knees all the time.Last edited by partsRheavy; 09-28-2008 at 04:45 PM.

my answer is yes, but
not especially in the mornings.
not especially in my shoulder, and
not especially in my legs, ankles, wrists.
so where is the plain yes? i mainly get it in my elbows, if i try to overextend my arms like im stretching them. i also got the occasional pop in the knees back before i had injuries. now my knee cracks all the time but that's after an acl reconstruction

eveyrthing on my body clicks or pops, but none with pain really:
clicks:
knees - in the AM
ankles - in the AM
elbows - in the AM , and scattered times throughout the day
These I'd consider more of a pop noise than a click noise;
pops:
wrists - in the AM
upper back
lower back (when ive been standing for a long time - if i touch my toes itll pop 2 or 3 times its wierd)
hope this helps
