It would seem that NBC didn't provide full Olympic coverage.

Sadly enough that is the state of our world nowadays. Some guy spends 20 years of his life becoming the best swimmer to ever exist then some booger eating idiot with a camera gets to trivialize it.
Way to go booger eating idiot your skills are recognized here. I won't shake your hand but...well...you know.

You can't have it both ways, do we make this guy a clown and take money from his pockets or do we leave him alone and let him make the money he deserves for spending 20 years of his life working hard.
You seem to want to make him a clown and then say it's not personal. Only he can say it is not personal.

I'm not trying to make him a clown at all. The guy was picked on his entire life and overcame all that to become, arguably, the best Olympian ever. If ever anyone could say "in your face", it's Michael Phelps though he was gracious enough not to say that to anyone.
That's the ironic humor of the video.

I just want to see the guy make the jack for busting his ass. When he becomes a Vehicle for comedy it takes cash out of his pocket because lots of people get their opinions from NBC. I don't know why.
I just want to see the guy make some cash.
And if you have to know I will piss in my own Wheaties if no one else does. You get your angst where you find it.

Chill out, chippy baby, have a drink or six. No one takes this seriously--why so serious?

Two totally different eras. Back then, there was little commercialization compared to now. Spitz DID get screwed, but so did all the other gold medalists.
If you want to make an issue out of the state sports is in now, take umbrage with what the pro baseball players are getting. Do they deserve 5 million a year or more when they aren't producing? Hell, no, but they get it anyway.
In any event, I'm sure Phelps'll get his coin and then some."Don't call me Miss Kitty. Just...don't."--Catnip. Check out the Catnip Trilogy on Amazon.com
