Help me understand the behaviour of my former Director

-I have resigned from a senior role in a Fortune 500 company a year ago.
-My manager was the CEO of said company.
-I did NOT leave on good terms and I wish they all burn in hell.
-The executive makes sure to send me a celebration card over WhatsApp every single time there is anything worth celebrating like Christmas, new year's.....etc and he never misses an event.
-6 months later he did not even forget my birthday and sent me a message, we are talking about someone who gets 200-300 emails per day to 3-400 whatsapp minimum with a schedule so busy he gets only 3 hours of sleep per day.

Why does he make sure, and never forgets to send a celebration card.

Btw ethics was good. Still don’t necessarily agree with the conclusion of god necessarily existing by virtue of the infinite nature of the universe leading into conflating all things with god but I see what he’s getting at and I’ve developed a more pantheistic way of looking at things, just more along the lines of the king in el dorado in candide than spinozas take.

Ironically I justify it using proponents of scientific determinism even though to me that’s still the big unknown question even if I pick the other side.

He is the type of person that is wired to connect this way. This is probably why he was able to make CEO. He is worried about the petty stuff most people are concerned with. Its pretty easy to do this once you have things automated.

I wish that was the case. These messages are coming from his personal phone number and not the number which the EA has.

This is very true. I pressed forward and moved on pretty well since, and every time I completely forget about him, his name pops up again. Whats he getting from it, I don't know. He is a very busy person so I would be surprised if that is all he hopes to achieve.

He's a a psychopath, he has no empathy or emotional intelligence. He's had to learn how to mimic normal people to mask what he is and be successful in this world.

He has learned that people send each other these things but not gained much of an understanding towards why, only that by participating in these rituals he is accepted by others and then has the opportunity to manipulate them towards achieving his goals.

He has not learned the nuance that you stop doing these things to people who longer like you. It's a bug in his be normal programming but there isn't much negative feedback around this fairly trivial leak, nothing that interferes with achieving his goals so it goes unpatched.

If you were to provide him feedback like "wtf mane this isn't normal" you would might find he stops doing it although such feedback from you in this context might be seen as a challenge to his ego and he may double down. Perhaps if someone else were suggest it is a bit odd it would be more likely to be received but it sounds like he has attained a position in society where people don't question him, people have been trained to not challenge his ego particularly on trivial matters such as this.

It’s also why so many go into politics. It works as a way to dismiss the behavior as them acting the weird way on purpose because they are a politician.

They can’t admit they were wrong, normal people get caught up in that, politicians don’t.
