I'm torn between a 2011 Ram 1500 or a 2011 F150. I have always owned dodge trucks until I dun goofed and traded a POS 08 Ram for a car. Now I have a bonus coming in a few weeks and it's time to own a truck again...which is the better truck?

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.

Between those two, definitely the Ford.
May I ask why you aren't considering a Silverado/Sierra? Would be the best choice of all truck options, although the most expensive. Definitely worth it though if you can swing the cash.BB.COM MISC STORE!! Provided by JSP and Muscleman420. Support the Misc!

Half ton trucks?
Fords towing capacity is greater, the difference in fuel mileage is negligible. But the ram has a 8 speed trans......which is laughable. Ford has better crash test ratings, Fords interior is slightly larger(more space), and Fords CS blows Dodge out of the water.

I just bought a 2012 F150 with the 5.0l and a friend of mine just bought a '13 Hemi Ram with the 5.7
Of the two I think the Ford is a better truck.
- Ram has a little more power, the thing is all engine. That new transmission is funny though, always feels like it shifts down too far.
- Ford has a better ride
- Dodge interiors aren't great even the brand new ones but they are better than they were...seats like a park bench in my '06, the new cab on the Ford is bigger than the last one which was already the biggest.
- Fords been getting better mileage. I just did a 700 mile drive in the snow and cold accross Alberta and Saskatchewan. Averaged 70mph (trans-canada highway) and 19+mpg. Thats hand calculated, not the computers read-out.
- Dodge has the cylinder de-activation for economy mode, but its hard to keep it engaged, anything over 55-60mph and its in 8cyl mode.
Really they are both great to drive as they are both nearly new, you would probably be happy with either.
I am not impressed with build quality on Dodges in general though, I have never had one I liked.------♥♥-----

not sure how i feel about RAMs. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I think they're groce. I generally dislike Dodge overall, but I think the RAM isn't as bad as it used to be. I bleed blue, though. And if we're talking 2011 only, I'd definitely go with the F-150.

Dodge is junk unless you go for the Cummins engine, the only useful one. The Hemi in it doesn't seem refined at all compared to what SRT8's get.
The Tundra is to get a 5.0L TD Cummins in the next few years. The Tundra has by far the strongest frame and has a nice feel to the steering, doesn't make the truck feel like a heavy ocean liner. Not saying to blindly go for the Tundra, but it definitely deserves a test drive. They also don't fudge with their MPG and tow rating capacities...and done up including lift kit, they look badass but in a graceful way. Made in Detroit with the price tag to show for it...and a bit more expensive compared to others.
Ford is pretty good too. FX4 ecoboost or FX4 V8, however the ecoboost is a bit of a compromise as far as reliability and fuel mileage claims go. Whereas the 5.0L V8 is a solid choice. F350 super duty with the turbo diesel Powerstroke is one fast as balls truck. 6.7L or something.
