    Whey or BCAA's pre-cardio?

I'm a long time lurker on this forum and was wondering which would be more beneficial for me.

Currently, on off-days, I take one scoop of ON whey 30-45 minutes prior to my cardio, which currently is 45 minutes of moderate intensity on the stair stepper. I often see it touted on these forums that a BCAA product such as Xtend should be sipped pre-during-and post fasted cardio to counter any chances of catabolism. My question is, should I stick with what I'm doing(whey) pre-cardio or would BCAA's be more beneficial in preserving muscle mass during my AM cardio sessions?

Do the BCAA's in Whey(as well as the Glutamine) offer good enough anti-catabolic effects as it is?

As far as being anti-catabolic, whey is certainly sufficient for pre-cardio. If you're trying to cut though,I would recommend using BCAA's. If you have glutamine, you could always take 4-5g's pre-cardio as well...or just use a BCAA product that already has it in there.
