It used to be Jordan vs. Kobe
Here's the thing about Kobe: he was basically an MJ ripoff, but not quite as good as MJ was. The fact that he played for the Lakers made him a lot more memorable than if he had played on basically any other team in the league. Was Kobe amazing, yes, but what I said is also true.

A couple of things that take Kobe's stock down slightly even though he's obviously top 10 all time, could be top 5.
He only played for one team and many years that team was BAD - although he did get five rings. We never had a chance to see how he might have performed in other markets, without a massive team being built around him, etc.
He also statistically didn't really stand out. A few brilliant games, yes. But his lifetime stats are 25PPG, with barely 5 rebounds and 5 assists. And they are the exact same in the playoffs. Jordan was 30PPG lifetime, and then in the playoffs his production went up significantly, and that's in rebounds and assists as well. Lebron also always elevated his game in the playoffs.

Anytime someone says Jordan VS anyone, I know I’m talking to a naive young person.
Like in MMA, anyone who says that goat is anyone but fedor, you know you’re talking to a teenager who is easily impressed by whatever he saw in the last four weeks.
Or in pro wrestling. There is hogan and Andre. The moment someone says Austin or something like that, you know you’re talking to a child.

I loved Kobe's approach to the game but he wasn't on the same level as LeBron much less Jordan. The only argument for LeBron over Jordan is longevity which doesn't really hold up considering before LeBron Kareem had the longest span of being great by a mile and nobody put him up there with Jordan. I do appreciate the way LeBron changed the game in the eyes of kids. He made it cool to pass the ball. Before Lebron every kid with hoop dreams wanted to pull a Jordan/Kobe and take tough contested shots ball hogging all the time. That only works if you are Kobe or Jordan, its not a style to try and replicate

I feel like anyone saying Fedor is the GOAT has to be born pre 1990 and fairly casual over the last decade.
Also, I feel like its unfair to judge athletes against other athletes who werent in their prime in the same era.
MMA goat, I dont know how you don't go Jon Jones. He is the most well rounded fighter arguably ever, dominated and cleaned out his division over an entire decade and now has been champ in TWO weight classes.
I know people will criticize him ducking guys like Aspinall present day, but he has nothing else to prove. His body of work is incredible, hes beat everyone whos anyone in LHW and is now taking meaningful scalps at HW.Reps to all BJJ/grappling/MMA bros.

Lebron is a manufactured goat contender
Espn needs someone to talk about for 20 years so a manufactured goat debate is easy money
Everyone knows he’s not the goat. He’s a bastard who needs a team to funnel a decade of resources into one year and a super team to get one ring
Jordan wins 3 with every one of lebetas team. 3 with Miami. 3 with Cleveland. 3 with lakersSniff hard as fuk when guys pass by to smell their balls crew
Don't know how to hold arms when walking crew

Jones is a great fighter, the best of the modern generation,
but it’s a completely different level from Fed, Fedor was a global superstar, where airports were shut down in major cities, and countries for his arrival, presidents would be jumping into the ring to take a picture with him, he competed in the golden age of MMA and he was a smaller guy than Jones and disnt cut weight, there is also the eye test, the highlight of fedor at his prime is kind of like Jordan in basketball, nobody comes close, nobody ever will.

Rock would make the top four mount Rushmore of Pro wrestling because he did everything correctly, he didn’t destroy his body, he got out and made insane amounts of money in Hollywood, exactly what you’re supposed to do, protect your health and make tons of money, so for practical purposes the rock did the best of any wrestler, the other three people would have to be Hogan Andre and flair.
as far as Michael and Triple, you cannot put them even in top 10 of all time, there were very significant figures in the past that eclipse their accomplishments.

Personally, I think LeBron is a weak communist sellout puppet bitch who folds under pressure and calls it passing the ball, because he doesn’t have the balls to take the shot himself, etc.,
but objectively speaking that’s just my eye test, and I have to admit that when people start putting Bird over LeBron that’s a stretch, you can make the case for Jordan and Kobe, but LeBron has to be third or fourth after Chamberlain or something.

Kobe won his first 3 rings on the coat tails of Shaq
Kobe cheated on his then wife and raped a teenager and then went on to cheat on her with multiple women. Dozens. All while “raising” two daughters. It was well known that Kobe was into strangling/choking his sexual partners.
Kobe only won one MVP
Lebron beats Kobe in every stat and advanced metric known to man
Kobe threatened to leave LA for Chicago if the team didn’t build around him (yet when he retired he kept praising himself for his “loyalty”)
Kobe only averaged 44% FG, Lebron 50%. Kobe was a ball hog and not even efficient
Kobe ran Shaq out of the team due to his ego and selfishness"It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience."
