I’m a 31 year old mountain biker, I primarily race downhill and enduros.
Recently got back in the gym to train properly for racing, so this log is going to outline what I do.
My race season is mostly over for the season, so the current goal is taking my body weight from around 157 to 170 by next spring. Ideally I’ll be able to do that while staying lean.
My training is going to be pretty straightforward. I have a home gym, and I need to be fresh enough to ride multiple days per week. I’m currently doing StrongLifts 5x5 until I get stuck, then I’ll switch to 5/3/1 BBB as it’s a program I’m familiar with, and I can tweak it to fit my racing schedule/work around injuries.
Tweaked something in my upper trap on Wednesday so I just squatted this morning. Felt better and came home this evening to do some bench and assistance and wanted to try out the new slingshot.Back to regular workouts on Sunday.
