    Food court food ideas?

Trying to cut down on body fat and I'm looking at asian cuisine in the food court at my work place

I'm thinking i ought to go for chicken, beef, beans and broccoli skipping on the rice

The hard part is I have no idea how many calories, protien, carbs, fat i'm getting

any suggestions on how you navigate asian cuisine at a food court to get healthy meals while not knowing the nutritional info?

Just guesstimate it. Doesn't matter if you're off by a 100 calories if you're consistent.

If it's a one time thing then just do it and go on.

If it's an ongoing thing then I would eat a specified amount and see what it does to your weight over time? It's hard to gauge things like that.

You'll also have to understand the water weight gain that comes with the sodium in Asian food.

Google the place, they likely have nutrition info online; it will be as close as you will likely get.

Look online for nutrition info - if they don't have any posted, find a similar restaurant and similar dish that does

Well, if you were eating 1g/lbs of protein and .5g/lbs of fat and X amount of carbs at maintenance. When you cut 500 calories off your maintenance, the deficit will probably come from carbs. But carbs itself can't harm you, they're perfectly fine. Personally I'd stay away from the fried rice while cutting, though, a bowl of shrimp fried rice is like 1100 calories.

Steamed shrimp or chicken with vegetables when they're not breaded and deep-fried, both shrimp and chicken are lean sources of high-quality protein. I generally recommend avoiding anything 'crispy' (code for fried), ‘sweet and sour’, and anything with peanuts or peanut sauce (healthy fat, but loaded with calories).

try using a website like myfitnesspal.com to get a rough estimate. its also great for an easy way to count calories, remember it doesnt matter what you eat just as long as your at a caloric deficit.

When you're trying to eat healthy at a food court, especially with Asian cuisine, going for dishes with lean proteins like chicken or beef and lots of vegetables is smart. Skipping the rice also helps reduce carbs. Since it's tough to know the exact nutritional content in food court meals, you could use a calorie tracking app to make educated guesses based on the ingredients and portion sizes. Also, if you’re looking to better manage your diet at home, browsing through montgomery ward reviews might help you find some kitchen gadgets that can make meal prep easier and healthier.
