I've looked around but haven't found anything on this but, does drinking protein powder before training/lifting help out? Or is this just a placeboo00o0o0o0o, or myth?

Agreed, i need at LEAST 2 meals in me before workout..
However i do take a protein shake an hour before i workout, skim milk, whey and oats then my preworkout (usually Jack3d or neurocore) around 15mins before training and this suits me fine i don't feel as 'empty' when training my muscles still feel quite full from the shake.. but try some out bro see what you feels best

Not all "workouts" are equal. You can no more generalize what to do before a "workout" than anything else. That said, NSCA studies showed that 20 grams of whey within an hour before intense resistance training provided positive results. If your "workout" is like most gym goers, it's probably not vital. But if you plan to train heavy and long, protein ingested before training can help. Just like carbs, proteins can be easier or harder to digest. A quicker digesting protein should be taken within an hour before, but a slower, less "bio-available" protein or whole food source should be ingested with at least a few hours to digest before training intensely.
