I lurk on this thread so much it's about time I started my own thread! I've gained 20lbs since the summer (or the 20lbs I lost this summer back again *UGH*) so I need to hold myself more accountable. Unfortunately I will be ungoing surgery for skin cancer - melanoma on the back of my calf along with a lymph node biopsy in 2 days. That is taking me out of the gym for 4-6 weeks but I'll be dieting and cutting none the less during that time.
Support, comments, and motivation will be appreciated!!!

Day #1
This was my last hoorah at the gym tonight. I ended up doing 45 minutes on the stepmill.
Nutrition: Total 1975kcal & 62g protein.
Food for the day:
4:45am - Oatmeal with sweetner
7:00am - String Cheese
9:00am - Banana
12:00 - Lean Cuisine Deluxe Potato
Left over sweet & sour chicken (approx 5 large pieces) and 1 cup white rice
7:00pm - Real Crab Sushi 8 pieces
1 clementine
**Improvements to Make**
Decrease sweetner in oatmeal if already flavored
Add additional food to planned meals such as a healthy snack with protein (greek yogurt/apple and high protein PB/protein bar) if still hungry. AVOID AVAILABLE JUNK FOOD!
Make sure I have something to eat no more than every 4-5hours.
Supplements: ZERO
I'm on too many medications preparing for my surgery. Multivitamins/Herbal supplements/Fish Oil/Fat Burners have to be avoided to avoid the liklihood of drug interactions and blood thinning effects. Once I have surgery and I'm in recovery mood - back to my supplementsView my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

Day #2
Weighed in this AM at 172.2lbs (-2lbs). Mostly water weight I suspect.
Exercise: NONE (Surgery Tomorrow)
Nutrition:
9:00am - Cheese Pretzel (All Natural, High Protein Wheat Flour)
11:00am - Kefir Strawberry Smoothie, Procrunch PB protein bar
1:30pm - 1/2lbs raw (so probably around 1/3lbs cooked) grass fed/grain finished ground sirloin with 1/2 cup hormone free colby/cheddar shredded cheese.
4:00pm - Greek yogurt
6:00pm - Clementine
Today's Totals: 1525kcal, 110g protein
I won't journal tomorrow because I can't eat anything past midnight and I'm having surgery the better half of the day. Probably will be so out of it that I won't drink or eat anything.View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

Thanks for the warm wishes! Logger I hope means someone faithfully using this log :-p Now if I could only convince my family to cook the foods I actually want to eat that are diet friendly.

I am talking about after my surgery! My family is stubborn so even though I have my own food in the kitchen they do what they feel like doing if that makes sense!

i'm assuming its out patient surgery. it's really hard to follow a diet and eat better when you're laying in bed and not cooking for yourself even worse when your family doesn't support you. especially in my family if i left it to them i'd eat twice as many calories, mostly from fat and carbs.

It is outpatient. I took 5 days off work and I'm a tough cookie so I'm sure I'll be up and about by day 2 or 3. I went grocery shopping and cooked food for at least 1 day post-op. I'm italian! My family will feed me pasta, buttered bread, and fried meat until I can't eat anymore :-x

Day #3
Surgery went well today. I'm in a lot of pain but woke up fron anesthsia starving! I know my choices were poor but my macros still looked okay. I lost more weight. Weighed in at 170.8lbs this morning.
Nutrition:
After surgery in the hospital to take pain medications: 1 cranberry juice, 1 strawberry nutrigrain bar
3:30pm - Home Run All Natural Pizza
5:30pm - Macaroni and Cheese, 1 small vanilla Kefir (super probiotic drink)
7:15pm - 1/2 cup of homemade turkey noodle soup, handful of junior mints
Overall: ~1965kcal, 75g protein
Crazy how if you don't eat all day your body definitely makes up for it by never being full once you start eating! Lots of protein and vitamin C to ensure proper wound healing.View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

I just want to point out that protein is only about 15% of your diet, i think you need to take a serious look at how much protein you're getting.
also pizza is full of carbs and fat, mac'n cheese, same thing carbs and fat.10-4-10 272

I am aiming for 1g per kg of lean body mass which I am acheiving. Obviously its not perfect it was surgery day! Holy smokes. The American Dietetic Association (and I'm a registered dietitian) recommends 10-25% of macros from protein. I'm not even working out right now. I don't kneed to overload on protein when there is no muscle recovering.
HOWEVER I am open to improvements and I will be making them Goal -2lbs per week.View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

I feel like I've been holding a lot of water with this pain medication. If I can make it without taking them today, I will try my best! I've been drinking a half gallon of water a day but I think it's time to up it to a full gallon. Ever since my surgery my weight went up about 3lbs (diet hasn't changed much so I believe its water rention.) Any thoughts?
Today's weight: 173.8lbs
Yesterday's Nutrition:
8:30am - Cheese Pretzel (I have to kick eating these but they are so good! All natural, high protein wheat flour, real cheese --> 350kcal, 15g protein)
12:00pm- Sirloin, Cheese, Ketchup (635kcal, 59g protein)
4:00pm - Greek Yogurt (160kcal, 13g protein)
8:00pm - 2 Clementines (110kcal, 0g protein)
Totals: 1255kcal, 87g protein (28% kcal from protein)View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

First off, keep taking the meds goof ball.
Don't let the mental aspects and emotions run your decision making process lol.
Stress and other factors probably contributed to the water gain and the day of fasting.
If it's just water which with your food intake OBVIOUSLY is, then it will go away later.
Stick with what you should do medically first, heal up from that.
Best of luck little lady.Bloodrage's doing things my way!! (Log)...: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=134435311

It's just pain medication. Really strong ones. I'm doing pretty good without them today but I did almost faint taking off my bandages today. I almost want to take a picture and scare all of you away from indoor tanning. Skin cancer is not very friendly...

I've been in so much pain and so out of it I haven't journaled the last 2 days. I'm not eating a regular times or preparing most of my meals. I go back to work on Monday *holy s&%t* so I'll be back to the grind with my fat loss journal. I still have a really strong appetite but my pain meds make me a zombie.
TO BE CONTINUED *tomorrow *View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

Thank you for your postive err negative encouragement . I made my weekly goal today lost 2 lbs this week. Weighed in at 172lbs this morning. I'll be designing a static menu today and venturing out of the house for the first time since my surgery.
Hopefully blood doesn't start gushing out my incisions. That'll be a site to see! Will add my food log for the day.View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html

Aww, I didn't mean it like that! U still look hot and that's from a 19yr old guys view. You just have to make it a lifestyle change and just go through the routine.
If I were you (being a girl) I would intake much less calories. Around 1400, fast walk 6 days a week, lift weights 3 days a week. But I really don't know becouse of your surgery. Eating more helps the body recover faster. Also at least intake a mutli V.

Well apology accepted! I can barly walk but I'm taking it one day at a time. I am taking a multi-vitamin though.
New Calorie Goal for the Week Starting Tomorrow: 1300 --> I'm 100% inactive with this injury
10:00am - 2 cinnamon rolls, 2 clementines (horrible choice I KNOW! Gave in to the Sunday relax and read the paper routine)
1:30pm - Baked Potato and Organic Chicken/Turkey Sweet Italian Sausage
2:00pm - Kefir
3:30pm - Kashi Honey & Flax Cereal with 1% milk
6:00pm - Greek Yogurt
I am really happy with everything about my intake EXCEPT the cinnamon rolls. They weren't that good and I could of made a better choice. I did meet my weekly goal though though all the surgery BS and I have a feeling this week will be even better.
Overall Macros: 1570kcal, 61gm protein.
Suggestions welcome...View my story of becoming "Female Transformation of the Week" at: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/operation-dream-barbie-is-a-success.html
