I came across a quick review for the site on yelp.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/american-floor-mats-rockville
I'm torn, frankly. The 5 star ratings don't entirely look made up, but all of the 1 stars scare me.
For $300, I'd rather go with rubberflooring inc if they are easier. A few people complain about them as well. Sounds like a lot of these flooring sites pull a bait & switch on may customers. I'm in your boat, but since you're doing this before me, I'm watching where you end up.
Kodiak Sports seems to be another choice. I don't see many ratings, though.
http://www.kodiaksports.com/RUBBER-F...e5wxoCOcXw_wcB
I'll probably go black, but it seems places offer 90% color. It's interesting, but doubt it's worth the money.
What other places have you looked into?

I have looked at Ironcompany because they posted some good info in an earlier thread, wanted to call them and talk but they are closed on the weekends. I have also looked at a few other of the top google searches, but American seems to be excellent value. I just don't want to order $700 worth of stuff for it to stink like tar for a month or tear up easily. I had thought about going all black for cost, but figured the 10% color may help hide the seams. Kodiak is another I looked at, but like Rubberflooring they tack on almost another $200 in shipping.
I guess I could try American and be the test subject, could always do a charge back if they turn out to be absolute crap.
Edit: Just found a 5% off coupon for them as well, $643 out the door for 312 sq ft seems unbeatable.Last edited by urbanlifter; 11-01-2015 at 09:01 AM.

That's an answer, alright...but not the correct one for me. Some folks have apparently received "good" ones, but I've seen far too many pics of crappy ones to even consider ordering one. I'd be more likely to buy a GPR378 and build a new base for it with an offset rear crossbar and shorten the factory bar hooks."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Awesome on the house/home gym...the place I was looking at has fallen through. I've got the absolute ****tiest luck with lenders/home buying lol
I'm in that weird area where I make too much to qualify for the really good/easy loans...and I haven't yet saved enough to do the other easy loans. Plus I've had 2 lenders now straight up lie/try to get more money upfront than originally discussed.
Live you learn though I guess. On racks if you are just wanting the simple/easiest thing those Texas Strength boys are pretty amazing. On flooring, call me weird but I just like the idea of the mats. So I can easily look/pick out the ones I want as well as replace them easy if one has issues. I see the advantage of one roll for the whole area, but just not what I plan to go with.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

Thanks! The deal closes this Thursday, hopefully we don't run into any trouble between now and then.
I like the idea of rolls because it will look more uniform and not pieced together unevenly like my stall mats were. The rolls seem pretty straight forward, I will only have to cut a few inches off the width/length with a straight blade. So I plan on having a Carpenter put down new tack strips and secure the carpeted area against my matting, then I will remove the wall trim and neatly cut the mats as close to the wall as possible. The rest should be cake, I can probably get away with needing carpet tape entirely.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #58 ▪█─────█▪

you guys looking for flooring might want to give CFF a call.
Not sure how competitive they are on the flooring but that's where I got mine (I had the benefit of picking up a partial roll left over from one of their employee's home gym and picking up).
and don't forget they offer a discount for military and first responders.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Please, please don't go there.
There's a reason why most people bring up my review & now tell others to never buy from TSS.
Take my word for it: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=159534011
If you'd like even more info, I'd be happy to answer other questions & take more pics.
I seriously wish this "company" would go out of business. I just bumped my own thread because of current inquiries into the company.
I'd rather not see anyone end up in my situation.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

Well, I got a really good quote from Ironcompany but I cant wait that long. IC had Patriot Sports 3/8 black rolls and the total came to $715 shipped, but the lead time was 2-3 weeks. Rubberflooringinc.com had the quick ship deal and said I would likely get it next Wednesday/Thursday while I'm on vacation and can do the install. Paid $150 more for the quick ship, but I don't see any other way around it to get things done while I'm moving and have time off.

Urban. Sorry if you've mentioned this before. But between this thread, the IC thread and maybe others, not sure where you wrote it. What are the layer(s) that will be underneath the 3/8" rubber roll? And what room is this gym going be in? Not making an opinion either way. Just curious.

anyone here golf and/or flip clubs?
Ten years or so ago I knew a guy that worked for Adams Titelies and got a great deal on a set of clubs that I have only used a handful of times. I don't see myself picking up the game and could use some cash and to clear more space in my basement, not sure where to price them at.Boomer Rep Crew #1

What's the make model of the clubs? Also what type of shafts? Steel or graphite? What's make/model of graphite shafts? 10 year old golf clubs, hell 2 year old golf clubs depreciate so much they're almost worthless. But it honestly depends on the make and model. I'm a golf aficionado and used to buy used clubs often. The big problem used to be knock offs were so cheap on EBay it was hard to sell legit clubs for a decent price.

Its going to be on a concrete slab, basically the basement of a tri-level home. I plan on tearing up the carpet and having it professionally finished by a local flooring guy to save myself some headache. Especially the transitions, half the room will still be carpet so I want it to look nice. I do not dead lift, nor do I plan on getting back into heavy deads, so based on the opinions I read I decided to go with just the 3/8 rolls. Then on down the road if I get an itch I'll add a platform.

Nothing wrong with overkill, I had the very same TSC mats in my garage. I tend to baby stuff so I thought the 3/8 should be sufficient, even when I was doing heavy deads I used to act like the rep wasn't complete until I gently set the bar down. Same goes with db's, have never and will never drop heavy db's unless I pass out or die during a set. haha

Nice work RL. Love hitting the century milestones (200, 300, 400, etc) and the "next 45" milestone. So 315 when?

The problem with your squats us clearly due to those poor quality plates. Being the nice guy that I am, I'll do you a huge favor and dispose of them so you can continue to make progress. Hell, i'll even replace them with shiny, new, Fitness Gear plates. PM for my shipping info.
