some bass 2-5 lb range

caught like 10 fish total

caught my first bass on a dropshot today. it bit as soon as it hit the water but i guess it still counts. I don't think my gap between the hook and weight was big enough though it was about 10". also the knot i tied wouldn't keep the damn hook perpendicular to the line the whole time.

just experiment with the length and see what the fish are eating. most people tie a palomar knot to get the hook upright. i usually tie my regular knot, when im done tying the hook on i take the tag end and stick it back through the hook eye, puts the hook upright.

I usually flyline senkos but when I started to practice dropshotting, I couldn't for the life of me catch them from the shore but when I dropshot while float tubing, nonstop action. Just have to mess around the different tag lengths. Waiting for the water to warm up for the bite to pickup

yea i was bank fishing today. The fishing has been really slow around here lately but I've seen a few big ones caught.

either fillet the fish or what you said

i dont usually scale and gut unless its something like croaker or something

most other fish, i fillet and grill with lemon pepper and some stuff
for smaller fillets, wrap in tinfoil then grill

should have left out cancun. originally planned to just go to cancun for 3 days, but we're driving through mexico to cancun, but going to stop by the sierra madre mountains to bass fish at lake el salto. dont like saltwater fishing because brother died going deep sea fishing at half moon bay

i mainly fish from shore with small/medium-size spinners. shimano stell and penn slammer.

ive been to mazatlan, stayed at the el cid marina in 1999. nailed sailfish all day. im planning on hitting la paz in the next couple years. did you like la paz?

I like La Paz the best it's just so lay back. Food and fishing's a little better in Mazatlan but La Paz has that small town feel that gives it the edge for me. The week of September 16th is the best month for La Paz, dodo's, tuna and Mexican independence day. I don't know how it is now but that place used to get scary wild on the 16th.

Yes but everything's geared toward the locals witch isn't that bad because everybody's friendly. The clubs are very small compared to Mazatlan. On the 16th of September it feels like the whole town comes out to play.

ya we got nailed with a mean cold front down here. snow in the high country so tons of run off. its going to phuck the bite up for a while. think im going to country thunder this weekend instead of going fishing

dude... you have no idea. hot sloots as far as the eye can see. i havent been a few years i just dont have the time to take off and do it right anymore. but 'll probably mob out saturday night, or just go all day sunday. its definately the meanest party ive ever seen. us rednecks know how to get down.

on the topic of buying gear, i just recently found out that walmart online has Abu Garcia Vendetta casting rods for $30. all the 7" foot ones are sold out though :/

Fiancee bought be a ardent edge elite reel. It was over $300... I was never into spending big for reels but damn am I excited for it to come in!



Getting warmed up for some upcoming bass tournaments. Going to Colin's lake next week, hopefully I'll have luck with my spinners like I did last year. Caught a 10lb and a 8lb back to back over at lake shasta with my spinners!! Freakin ridiculous!!
