Not sure how in the h*ll I managed this session this morning?? Been In a funk pretty much all week, was not happy with bench.

For some unknown reason I just couldn't find my spot on bench. It just sucked, from the moment I un-racked the weight till I re-racked.

Everything was tight till I go to un-rack it, then everything falls apart. I'm just not happy with the way chit is going.

Day Three

Warm up 45x10, 135x10

Bench Press – 5/3/1
225x3, 250x3, 270x3

OHP – 5 sets of 10 reps
105x10, 105x10, 105x10, 105x10, 105x10

One Arm Lat Pulls – 5 sets of 10 reps
100x10, 100x10, 100x10, 100x10, 100x10


Accessory Work

Superset:

Yates Rows 3 sets 8 reps
135x8, 225x8, 225x8

Pendlay Rows 3 sets 8 reps
135x8, 225x8, 225x8

Normal:

Straight Arm DB Pullovers 3 sets 10 rep
50x10, 70x10, 80x10

Superset:

Decline Skullcrushers 4 sets 10 reps
50x10, 70x10, 70x10, 70x10

DB Decline Tricep Extension 4 sets 10 reps
30x10, 30x10, 30x10, 30x10

Normal:

DB Front Raise 4 sets 10 reps

Sucks about the bad session man. Whenever I have a bad session I just mark it off as a bad day and try and forget about it completely. If I go in the next day thinking about how chitty my session was last time I'm destined to be in a bad mindset and not be ready to crush the weights!

will the hip is a separate issue from my head just not being in it. Had some things happen early in the week that's just got my focus off.

hell, i am just thinking about getting back into BB pressing since I have been doing DBs for so long, but that's another story.

In short, I was never really comfortable with the BB. It was too much on my shoulder and I just wasn't or didn't seem to be gaining any strength. Maybe approaching it wrong? Dunno.
Then came the surgery and between that and my shoulder, I just found more strength with the DBs. Better pump, better contraction.

Fast forward to last Saturday, and I don't know. Just tried to change form a little by listening to all you big guys and wow......

Not saying it's gonna be a staple. Depends on my shoulder, however, I may start working it in more often.

decreases in strength are good! The greater decrease you get during your strength training the greater the compensation is when you take a break!
