    Due to my ****ty overhead mobility I've decided to widen my jerk grip to get the bar in a better position overhead. Did 6 singles at 115 kg tonight working with this wider position, I think it looks better. Thoughts?

    How do you guys cut fat slowly while training? Is it the same as how you'd diet for bodybuilding?

    I wont be competing anytime soon as i'm new but i'd like to slowly drop fat and compete at 69kg in maybe half a year

    Opinions on programming deloads in olympic weightlifting?

    Part of me thinks I may be able to go without them indefinitely since I'm handling such lighter weights than when I was training for powerlifting.

    I always did well with 50% deloads every 4th week doing 531. I've been reading up on olympic lifting for a month now and deload ing doesn't come up very often.

    Opinions?

    My definition of deload is like 5x3 @ 50% for a week so we're on the same page.

    I wouldn't deload much, if at all. Tapering for a meet/to see where you are at, yeah.

    Right now I'm at 3-4 days. I know that a lot of people do 6-7 around here. I will slowly try to work up to 5, but I'm not sure. I have a wife and 3 kids and a mortgage and not the easiest job in the world (I mean, I'm not digging ditches or anything like that, but still)... I'm concerned I'll burn myself out @ 5 or more sessions a week.

    yeah, at 3-4 sessions a week, I wouldn't worry about it unless you are really feeling drained (which is often more of a mental thing, and a bro day or just skipping 1 session can often fix). I don't travel that much, but I will often go someplace for 3-4 days every 3ish months or so, and that serves as my deload, lol

    anyone ever had to switch temporarily to another technique because of a an injury?

    my ankle was tired because of my sprain last week i could not get an aggressive outward movement for squat jerking, so today i just did power jerking, pissed because i was moving pretty quick too

    actually yes, I injured my wrist cleaning when i first got into weightlifting and I had to change my jerk grip to alleviate the pressure it was putting on the wrist.



    thought I'd share this with you guys, what a freak athlete. he weighs around 345 pounds O.O

    for you guys that use actual wraps (not ACE wraps) for the lifts/skwats, what kind are you using?

    Looking at you ftwrestler (since I know you do). ACE wraps work great for me, but they seem to wear out pretty quickly, they are pretty cheap, but it adds up and maybe real wraps would last longer (although I might hate them).

    ive moved away from my inzers, but i have a pair. i just use ace wraps now. If I feel like stroking my ego i will break them out

    It's pretty much the same brah. There are only very small nuances in different rules from country to country. For example, in America a comp platform can be 12x12' because we do **** in ft. instead of metric.
