What's funny is, I'm a Glock guy through and through, but I really like the shield. I like the full size M&P as well, but their triggers suck balls, so I'll never make the switch on the full size. So until Glock comes out with a single stack 9, I'll use the shield.

You guys are making me think I should be buying this shield...$555 to take it home.

Anybody here be able to compare the 9mm shield to a Kahr PM9? Recoil comparison mostly.

Troy issued a statement a long time ago that they were raising their prices on the battlemags. They are new and it is costly to start up manufacture of moldings. So their cost deferment was originally planned to be spread over many thousands of units. Once this ban crap kicked up they realized they might be forced to cease production or be very limited so they reran the numbers for recouping their money over many thousands less units than previously planned. This might be at the Econ 201 level though.
yeah the backpack i got doesnt have a frame which is the issue

the prs just feels so awesome though. if you get an 18"-20" med contour you will probabably want the weight on the ass end

as far as the mags they kind of priced themselves out... sure, if they sold the same amount for 3X the cost, then they could recoup the costs, but who the fuk is going to pay $50 per troy mag? even if a federal mag ban happened, they could always sell them as mag refurbishing kits or something like everyone does in CA

I'm not sure about the Kahr, but the shield is a little snappy. More recoil than my G19, but that's to be expected from a small single stack.

I've always hated external safeties on my guns, but the shields safety doesn't bother me at all. It's easy to disengage, but with it being small an recessed, it's difficult to accidentally engage it. Hell, you have to break grip and push it up just to engage it purposefully.

I didn't care for the recoil on the PM9. The shield is at least 4oz heavier and has a fuller grip. Seems to be closer in weight/ size to the glock 26, which I like shooting...

ETA: Accessories available for shield? night sights, piece grip ext, spare mags?
