fuaaaaaark I miss mine.
The guy I sold it to bro'd it out, then flipped it a month later. The next buyer slapped on an 18g with no tune and blew the motor, then parted it out.
Full 03 WRX Conversion, interior and exterior. PnP td04, JDM STi Front End Conversion and 5speed. Morette headlights with BMW Ellipsoids. Blah blah blah.
It was 267whp/275tq when I sold it and weighed like 2450.

The sti also has a much more refined suspension set up, LSDs, and the differences beyond the listed vary depending on which year you're talking about (pre 2004, 04-07, 08, 09-14), with performance getting closer to equal. The wrx is not on the same level as the sti in terms of track driving, but is in terms of drag. The STI is also $8k+ more expensive than the WRX currently, depending on trim level. Whether or not thats worth it depends on your use. A lot of the WRX's shortcomings can be fixed or mitigated easily, with things like steel brake lines, better pads/fluid, sways, etc. Both cars have poor stock tunes that put emissions over performance, efficiency, and engine longevity.

any brahs with experience in the transmission feel difference between the newer WRX's and STI's.
I love the STI havent had the chance to drive one, i drove a WRX but the feel (or lack of) in the 5speed really killed the experience for me. Is this a constant problem, or is that a easy fix with an aftermarket shift kit?

Lulz at the notion of any subaru being "geared for drag", it has longer gears nothing more nothing less, its what generally happens when you need to make an appropriate final drive with gear ratios that makes sense with each other when you are working with one less gear.
Tic makes all the shifter bushing and short throw shifter you could ever need. Their holy shift kit really helps with removing the vague feeling of the stock setup.Reps for life:

Checking in, just got a 2014 plasma blue pearl WRX hatch. Having a blast so far with it.
As far as the sti vs. wrx debate, for me it came down to this: I will never take my car to the track, I just wanted a quick fun, daily driver. Also a big factor for me is that the wrx has the wide body, if that was only available on the sti like it use to be,I'd spend the extra money.

I test drove the WRX before trying the STi. I know a lot of people say there isn't a huge difference between the two, powerwise, but i noticed it enough to make me think twice. The 6 speed also make for a much better drive, especially since I had a 5 speed car prior to picking up my STi. I still really like the wrx though, it has a lot of kick it just wasnt what i wanted to go for
i do not endorse rep trading on forums.

Ya the thing that pissed me off is i literally called at 8 at night the night before and asked to SCHEDULE an appt. like it said on the website, the guy said it was no problem because i was going to be in first thing in the morning.
When i show up they say i can't drive it than blame me for not giving them a phone number to call, despite the fact i asked to make an appt and the sales guy just said "no its fine just come in" .
and this was at a big dealership in southern ontario, had about 5 new STI's in stock. Really rustled my jimmies
