It was Summer and me and my friends were away on the coast of the country and we decided to go to the water lagoon/Lake in the morning.

There were alot of younger adults there already and on the side of the cliff there was a rope swing.
As the rope would swing into the air as you swung off the cliff it would acculmate to about 15 meters high from water and about 5 - 8 meters deep.
After seeing kids and people do it and back out of doing it I decided to give the rope swing a go.

After flawlessly executing a dive into the lake i swam to shore and sat on the stones watching other people do it.
None of my mates did it so I decided to do it again but this time i had the bright idea of cart wheeling from it..

I prepared my swing and let go trying to do a flip in the air, I did the cartwheel.. but landed sideways on my shoulder and head and could feel the pins n needles from the impact.

before hitting the water I heard people " Gasp " and a chick scream.

I blew my air-drum straight away, I swam to the top of the lake and soon as I looked at the shore my head started to spin, I had water in my head and It felt like i had been Punched in the head.
I couldn't control my body and i sunk, As I sunk I knew i was going to drown if i didn't do anything, I began to try swim to the surface and swim to shore, I even screamed help before i sank again, I knew i was in trouble so i swam back to the surface and rapidly swam, I remember hearing some chick scream " somebody help him " I got to shore and shook it off.. People were suprised and my mate thought i was going to drown, ( people have drowned there before )

Later I had the worst pain in my head/ear ive ever experienced. I had blood slowly seep out and needed medicine before the infection set in, I was staying at my mates holiday home and could just lay in bed.. in pain..

I belived i didnt drown that day due to all the cardio I had gained from doing Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and to be able to take a impact to the head/brain and recover is based on your cardio somewhat.

scariest was prolly was when my buddy and I were driving to another town to pick up something. My friend was driving and he's pretty terrible at it but anyway, we were on the highway which was pretty bare, but this guy comes up and rides our ass for a while. Due to this guy my buddy gets super pissed and he guns it (to lose the guy behind us). So eventually we hit 200km/h and the guy is far gone behind us so I'm like okay you can slow down now.... I dont think my buddy noticed but up ahead of us was this ****ing huge curve. As we approach it my buddy finally lets off the gas and we are cruising at around 190-200km/h about to enter this pretty sharp curve. In my mind I was like oh fuk we're fuked theres no way our car is gonna hold through this. So we hit this curve going 200 and I was sweating bullets, life flashing before my eyes, the car tires start to skid a little but we somehow manage to stay on the road after we just drifted this curve going a rediculous speed. But yeah I fukin told my buddy hes a fukn idiot an to slow down after that

I hopped on an empty carriage and it was all gravy for the first ten minutes until this dude got on my carriage and sat up the back. A few minutes later I hear some wierd grunting noise but just shrug it off. Shortly after this, I hear something which sounded like a little girls giggling. I turned around and this dude had moved up a few seats closer toward me. I ignored it though was slightly creeped out.

I hear this fcking wierd giggling again like "kekeke" and this fcking dude has moved closer to me still, hes only a few seats behind mine. At this point its seriously fcking wierd and scary and I prepare myself for something happening, or to leave the train early before my intended station. I hear more girly little giggling, and the dude is now sitting right across from me with a demented grin on his face. I hop off at the next stop which was the one before mine and gtfo away from it as fast as possible. I couldnt help but look back in the window though and see the dude is now sitting where I was-I also notice he had a huge bowie knife handle sticking out of his belt buckle. Took me longer to get home and had to wake up a mate to give me a lift, but god knows what wouldve happened had I stayed on the train
I remember reading this post when I was lurking and damn, I still remember it. Glad I found this thread again!

The fear of a meaningless life and mundane experiences with people I don't even like.

The fear of having a job I hate or a job that makes very little money and being looked down on in life.

One night watching tv in living room, summer day. And I hear a loud bang, gun shot outside the window, right in the backyard. Under the window, my woman jumps up, runs to the window, my son is sleeping on sofa next to me, and I am thinking someone threw a fire cracker or something as it was getting close to 4th of July. So not being too alarmed. Sounded like a shot gun though. She literally dives under the window, I grab my son and throw him on the floor, jump up and say what? She says someone just ran under our window.

I tell her call 911, I run to the bedroom, open the safe grab my fn.45 turn on the laser sight, its about 10 pm or so. Open the front door and tell her, tell the cops I am outside and have a gun.

I go in the backyard, look around, now I am pretty mad to be honest thinking, whoever this mofo is, he is literally playing with his life, if he is throwing fireworks, or shooting a gun, I am going to fuk him up literally.

By the time I checked the area, and come to the front yard, the cop is there, a female and she goes is everything ok. I am standing there, looking at her, my gun now pointing down, down my leg, finger off the trigger. I tell her, could not find anything.

Neighbor comes out too and says, its the transformer on the pole right behind his house that blew up. And I am standing there thinking, got damn son.

Cop smiles and says have good day sir.

I got lost in a forest when I was 14. Went for a brief walk, and then realized that its already night time and I was lost. Not to mention to make matters worse, the entrance to the forest was a graveyard. By the time it got dark, I couldn't see sh*t and I was wandering all over the place looking for a way out. At one point I was like f*ck it I'll sleep here and find my way out when it is light out. Let me tell you something about the human mind, it plays mean tricks on you when you're scared. I heard all sorts of stuff including animals running around, branches breaking and various other stuff. Around 4am I finally stumbled out and got home. Telling this story now, it's not as bad as how I felt when I was there. You literally feel hopeless.

In my younger days, young and dumb.
A friend calls me up, says man my brother is in China Town about to get jumped, we need to go get him.
I am like ok fuk it, lets go. I am at a party with two other Ruski guys, I tell them I gotta go help a friend out, and chit might go down. The Ruskis say, do we need to bring guns. I say I am bringing mine.

They jump in the car with me, so me and two Ruskis, we go get my friend, who is Cambodian. We now head to Chinatown to pick up his brother. As we pull up close by to this club where his brother is, it is packed, 100s of people literally everywhere. I tuck my gun in to my shoulder holster, put my jacket on and say lets go.

We walk in to the lobby, there in the lobby I see about 40 guys, most of them wearing blue, Crips all of them, my Cambodian friends brother is a Blood. We walk over to the table where the brother is. Three Eastern Europeans and two Cambodians. The Cambodian brother, takes his shirt off, in a tank top now, pretty big dude, 5.10 about 200lbs and ripped. We know what is going to happen, we are going to go back to the Lobby and are going to get jumped by 40 guys.

So we head towards the Lobby and as we walk in to the Lobby all the guys in the Blue stand up. Their leader a guy in his probably mid 30s, bold no har, tattoes everywhere. Literally 100s of Asians everywhere. All around us. As we are walking out I unzip my jacket, take out my .45 and take the safety off and literally now holding it down pointed to the ground.

I now for a fact know I will kill people, and I will die here today. No choice brahs. I know for a fact I will die, but I will kill as many as I can before I die.

My other two Russian friends, both are now guns in hands, safeties off, same as me pointing to the ground. The leader of the gang is now standing at some car, he is looking at us. we are surrounded all around, about 40 guys looking at us. He is just looking at us and drinking a beer, one mean looking mofo, he slams the beer on the ground and stands up.

My finger is on the trigger, I am looking at him, thinking, you are going first my man. You are getting shot. So there is five of us, 40 of them or so. All around us, starting to close in. And people are now out of the club all looking at us from the front door.

The Leader looks at me and says you bring guns to a fight puzzies. I look at him and say, you will be the first to die bro. I promise you that. And I will kill as many as I can. And then call the cops.

The leader looks around at all his people, then slowly puts his hands up and waves down, like a motion for everyone to sit down and back off. I am standing there thinking oh fukkkk. Slowly start walking away from the parking lot. They are all just letting us walk out.

That brahs, was a moment I will never forget. I went to get a friend out of trouble. Would have died if I had to. It was just something I had to do. Now thinking about it, so stupid, why didnt we just call the cops.

It's been a while since the last time I was over-come with fear. Some of the stuff I do is fear-inducing, but I find that I've been able to live with it well enough to move beyond it when the situation calls for it. I get a sense of satisfaction from over-coming the fear, a strange high if you will. It makes me feel more alive at times. Everything is an experience. Every moment is one that I won't soon forget. Perhaps that's what it's about--escaping from the perpetual "meh" that is the norm. Feeling scared, or afraid has always been better than the daily monotony. I grew up watching horror movies, I have my aunt to thank for that. We used to go to those "haunted houses" where people would jump out and scare you. Eventually that became too predictable. Eventually, I realized it was all an act. It was life, but it was simulated life.

I think that's when I turned to Urban Exploration.

I don't really know what sparked the thought in my mind. Maybe it was the friend who had told me about all of the abandoned places he'd visited. Maybe it was the friend who told me that he used to hold hazing rituals inside one of the many abandoned psyche wards located nearby. Hell, it could even have been the friend who told me that he had visited the Freedom Tunnel once. Either way, I don't speak to any of them anymore. Time causes friendships to grow apart--people move, and people find other commitments.

Either way, I remember always feeling the desire to explore. In fact, the first time I'd ever done anything remotely similar to Urbex was with a large group. Some of the group were friends, the rest were mutual friends. There was one guy in the group who was a bit off. He kept insisting that his name was something else--to which, he was consistently countered by the friend who brought him along, who informed us that the name he was trying to go by was not his real name. I was a little off put by that. We'll call the kid "Jake."

Anyhow, we all pile into a car and head over to an Insane Asylum my friend knows about. The whole time Jake is insisting that horrible things have happened there, and that he's seen terrible apparitions in the halls. I'm a skeptic. I laugh at him. Sure, I've seen things I may not be able to explain, but I know that there's an explanation out there somewhere. He insists that he sees ghosts.

    I stop talking to him.

When we get there, we all zip out of the car, excited to begin our expedition. One of my friends had already been there, Lou, who gave us a list of places he knew were in the facility--though didn't know all the locations for. My eyes light up when he tells me there's a morgue. There's the penchant for the macabre in me--always willing to find the creepiest place and stake it out.

"Morgue." I say, turning toward everybody. "Sound good?" Everybody agreed, and we were off.

We spent the majority of the night walking through the depths of the cold halls of the asylum. We had managed to pry off the boards blocking an entrance to a sub-floor. Basically, the hall-way was mostly underground. There was no light to be found anywhere. Half-way down the hall, the darkness swallowed us. We could faintly make out small rooms on either side of us. Through the darkness, we could see that there was next to nothing inside of them except for what looked to be a stand for some sort of operating table--but no table.

We turn on our lights, and the beams penetrate through the darkness. The lights make us feel both at ease and unsafe at the same time. Anything now outside of the radiant cone of light is now impossible to see. We push forward, finding ourselves at an intersection. To our right is another long hall-way. This one wider, and significantly darker than the rest. The door to the hall-way is ajar, and the windows have been smashed. There appears to be... Garbage lining the floor. No, not garbage... It's the top of soda cups. Just like when you go to a fast-food restaurant and they have the seals for the top of your cup--it's those, all over the floor. Strange, I thought.

To our left, there are a bunch of different rooms. Each one has a dentist's chair, and some over-turned cabinets. Nothing of particular interest really.

We elect to venture down the hall-way.

Our light barely seems to break through the stifling darkness that lingers within. Something moves amongst the litter. I can't tell what it is, but Jake is clearly terrified. He begins mumbling to himself about something. We ignore him, and continue on. Up ahead, I can hear what sounds like somebody shuffling through the plastic lids on the ground. It's almost as though somebody is walking toward us. I worry, for a moment, that we've crossed paths with a squatter.

But the light reveals nothing up ahead.

Jake is visibly shaken. His already pale skin has become even more pale. Or maybe that was just because we had shined a flash-light on him and he was white enough to reflect the beam--I don't know, I wasn't sure. But he was really starting to freak everybody out.

The kid pulls out this gigantic bowie knife. Thing had to be about the size of my forearm. The biggest knife I'd ever seen in my life. And when he does, he takes off running. Not forward, but backwards. Back the way we came. Back into the first hall-way, and just disappears. Keep in mind, the kid doesn't have a light or anything.

So we chase him down, all shouting for him. My mind is racing back and forth, I knew it was a bad idea to bring this kid along.

Every room we pass, we poke our heads in, and shine the light around. I swear, we must have ducked into 50 rooms, both worried that this kid was going to knife us and worried that he'd gotten hurt. In all honesty, we had no idea what was going on.

We finally made our way back to the car, hoping we'd find him. But he was nowhere. The car didn't even look like he'd been there.

So we go back into the building. We notice now, that the hall actually continues to expand beyond the door way we'd broken into. It's not much, but there are two dark rooms in the back. We huddle into the first one, which doesn't have a door. It's just an expansion of the hallway, tucked neatly off to the side. There's a silvery-metallic box on the wall. We walk toward it, shining the lights on it. There are about four cabinets on the thing that are wide open. Inside, there are... Trays. Tin trays.

"It's the morgue." We all whispered among ourselves.

First thing that I thought was "Fuk, don't tell me this kid is hiding in here."

We scour the second room. There's a large table in the center and what looks to be medical cabinets. I had an inkling that this room was something like a preparation room. Maybe even... I don't know, one of those rooms where bodies are inspected for cause of death--I forget what those are called. Either way, it doesn't matter. The kid's not in there.

But we do find a small doorway in the corner of the room. It leads to a sort of closet--a walk in closet. There are tons of cabinets along the side. And in the corner... There's a chair. A lonesome chair, facing the doorway. Upon that chair sits Jake, staring at us with wild eyes. He's murmuring something to himself. His hands shake and tighten around the bowie knife.

    Fuk.

We cautiously approach with our hands raised, as if to dissuade him from making any action. We call his name, but he's unresponsive. He's not addressing any of us--hell, it doesn't even seem like he realizes we're there. We grab the kid and he starts freaking out the moment we touch him--flailing his arms wildly nearly knicking me with the knife. Thank god he didn't. I grab the arm with the knife prying it from his hands, and my buddy grabs his other arm. A third friend grabs the kid's legs and we hoist him up. We carry the kid all the way back to the car as he screams wildly... None of us were able to hold the flashlights so we marched back through the darkness. His cries echoed through the hall eerily.

We burst out of the hall when we see the door way we'd come in from, and make a dash for the car with the kid in our arms.

The car's doors are all opened, and the lights are on in the car. Now we're freaked out. The kid starts really struggling, and manages to wrestle free from our grasp. We drop him on the floor. He gets up and comes at my buddy (the same friend who brought him), and my buddy drops him. We stuff the kid in the car and drive off.

The whole car ride to the kid's house is silent. We drop him off at the door step, and book it. We go home without mentioning it to each other, and haven't really brought it up since.

Have been back to the place a few times. Sometimes by myself. Haven't seen anything else weird there. But that kid was fukking creepy, and I'll never bring somebody I don't know to an Urbex outing ever again.

Moral of the story: If you don't know somebody, don't go to remote places with them.

    Cliffs:

-Type goes to insane asylum for the first time.
-Brings group of friends, one of which is a mutual friend who doesn't know.
-Kid freaks out and pulls a knife.
    -Kid runs away.
-We find him and wrestle with him and bring him to the car.
    -Car doors are all open.
-We freak out. Kid breaks free and charges my friend.
    -My friend drops the kid.
-We bring kid back to his house and don't speak of the incident again.

Went on a Safari once with my family. Were in an open jeep with 1 guide and one driver. See a lone big male elephant block the road. We drive closer to take photos. Suddenly that 10 000lbs mother****er takes a threatening postures flexes his ears and than charges the car. Since the road is small and muddy and we got not time or space for a u-turn, the driver just went reverse as fast as possible. While the elephant came closer and closer we went thorugh some small water puddle after which the animal stopped chasing. He probably just tried to scared us awy, but an angry elephant is a truly scary sight to behold.

my worst one was a over Christmas last year.

-I'm on prednisone for an autoimmune disorder
-was starting to get side effects of prednisone, so doc decides to try a different medication.
-one of the side effects of prednisone is paranoia. New med brought out this paranoia 1000X worse.
-thought I was being followed 24/7.
-Was admitted into phyc ward for a few weeks.
-took months for the full feeling of paranoia to were off. I couldn't leave the house without having an anxiety attack lol was bad.

    All good now

Never been that messed up in my life. Scary what the wrong medication can do to a person

Well this thread looks really cool and I have nothing better to do tonight so Im going to share a couple stories. First thing you have to know is spoopy chit seems to happen to my family. My dad is a huge believer in the supernatural, but my mom and her parents are huge skeptics and atheists. I have a three spoopy stories, one that happened to my mom, one to my dad, and one that happened to me and my brother. My parents have pics of a lot of this chit and I will try to contact them and see if they will send me some of them tomorrow. Ill post them if i get them. They may be long but each is worth the read and I swear to god they are all 100% srs.
