    squats everyday only atm

have no time for lifts right now because I have to get As this year in uni to get into optometry and I would rather increase my power so that I'd have the strength to pull decent lifts when I have time to do them. Will probably do the lifts again next break but then it will be back to increasing squat strength until I've finished this year of uni lol

also do presses and push presses because they don't waste much time (5/3/1 format) but don't do them as often as squats

Adidas more flexible, a tad lighter, fit more snug (fit like a glove when broken in).

Nike alot "bulkier", more stability into the ground because I think the heels are heavier. Better for squatting heavy. Feel slightly more glued to the ground in the recovery since they're not as flexible. Wider forefoot. Straps are annoying on the Roma's IMO

With that all said I'm a Adidas fan after both.

    1. Your start position is compromised. You start your pull with your ass still low to the ground, try bringing it up a little, get tight, and then start the pull.

    2. [b]You're not extending very much which is keeping your hips away from the bar. It looks like you're actually having to actively ram your hips into the bar to make contact. When watched in slow motion it looks like you've developed a slight hitch and the bar suddenly changes direction forward and it swings out because of this. As the weights get heavier you should be developing a slight lean backwards to keep the bar moving in a straight line and to keep the center of gravity.

Adidas = Sleek, sexy, light, responsive, mobile
Romas = Bulky, solid, heavy, once your feet plant down 0 f*cks are given... you're staying put

either way youre fine with any one of them, but like schabowy said, Adidas feel a little better

Right now im trying to set up an oly club at my uni that way I have a place to train 7 days a week.. but for now, it's just tons of remedial work like:
sotts press, OHS, OHP, push press, light jerks, light muscle snatches, light clean and jerks, TONS and TONS of bar work, tons of mobility, pulls... chit like that. Sucks I can't push myself and go heavy or else I'll get kicked out if i drop weights...

I was in a similar situation last few weeks of school for finals lifted maybe like 4 times since beginning of April. And now im home for the summer and refuse to pay xfit gym 150/month for 1 hour sessions 4 times a week.

I've just been squatting. Not a fan of everyday squatting though. I'll probably do some more push presses and OH work. But my view point is the same as yours on strength.

I bought an xfit bar (basically a poverty oly lifting bar, I can't really tell the diff though) and 160kg worth of bumpers for $1099NZ... that there is the price of 6 months of crossfit lol.

yo what does your setup look like? Is it 100% outdoor or do you bring the chit in and out?

Everything is outside underneath a corrugated plastic shelter. I just leave everything outside lol. It's just squat stands like in my avi, barbell and 160kg bumpers (25x2, 20x2, 15x2, 10x2, 5x2, 2.5x2, 1.25x4) It's all pretty durable equipment but relatively cheap

In other news, I think I'm gonna adopt Jon North's snatch/Clean technique when I get back to doing the lifts

seems like it would work for me because I always overthink my starting position..

well the bumpers can't rust because they're rubber and the bar doesn't rust either for some reason. Only very slightly the collars of the bar are looking a bit scratched up but it doesn't feel rusty.

squat stands don't rust at all because the paint I think? anyway this equipment is made for a garage lol. Don't care if it isn't kept in top condition as long as I can use it properly.

Anyone's bench absurdly weak in comparison to strict pressing? I recently pressed 220lbs and the most I've ever benched was 275lb for a double. That was when I was really into benching, so I probably can't even hit 275lb for a single now. Someone told me that the longer your arms are, the more shoulder dominant you will be in pressing movements. I have a 78" wingspan. Makes benching really hard but pulling very very easy.

My flat and incline bench are nearly the same. My shoulder just takes over any pressing movement. I don't think I've gone above 10 reps on anything in years.

ty sir for song. going to set some pr's to it this week.

lol idk if they make them for guys, but lulu running tights are the most delicious thing ever to lift in. >>>nike, adidas, whatever.

sadly even they cannot stop me from cutting my extension and rainbowing. thinking i need to be less over bar to start and more at top of second pull (i.e. still not enough superman). but in for critique from you lovely people.
