was at 177.8 today on the scale. Last time I saw that was on August 6th. Hopefully I go progressively downwards. In Dec I was at 168. I hope by the end of this month I can hit atleast below 175. I got a scale that measures body fat and it has me at 19.6%. Although I think it only measures bone density and I have a pretty heavy frame.

Yeah I know they are very inaccurate. One day im at 21% bf the next day im at 19%. I wanted to get a new scale as my old one is rubbish. I decided to get a BF % one just to track that a bit. If I know its going downwards more than up I know im losing something! Just an extra way to track even if it is fairly inaccurate.

I've put away my scale for the month of August. Probably the best decision I could have made. I know I am doing right by exercising and eating right, so it's not worth the headache. This morning I was surprised when I could feel/see the outline of my calves when I propped my leg onto a stool and I'm sure that wouldn't reflect on the scale as progress!!

I didn't eat to clean thursday night had some beers and junk food and went to the gym today tried to do my chest work out and my shoulder was very sore when doing bench press. I did 30 minutes on the stair master instead and the girlfriend and I are going to play some disc golf and geocaching today as well. Near the end of september there is a spartan race coming to a city an hour away me and we are thinking of singing up. It's gonna be at a ski hill so alot more hills.

So I thought I was going to be able to go and run the Par Course tonight but I was surprised earlier and told that I was going golfing and to have a good time. So right after work I am going golfing and then I will go for a nice little run tonight. Par course and gym tomorrow for sure! Hope everyone is having a great day and weekend!!

Favourite under-appreciated part of weight loss
I track my weight daily. So I see the fluctuations, the low points and the high points (when I'm super bloated or its the end of the day or dehydrated etc). The lowest-point goes down but you never stay there long. But when the highest-point starts decreasing, you never go back up ever again. What I mean is, today I'm bloated as ****, ate a substantial cheat last night, but I'm in at 196. I started the contest at 200, but even then my high-mark was around 205-208 (under similar circumstances). This feels like REAL weight loss!

This is one of the advantages of weighing every day. It works for some, not for others. Poster a few posts up said best thing they did was put it away.
I also weigh in everyday. I can tell if I'm going to be near the top of my zone, but usually the lows surprise me. I really lime being able to see the patterens, and know what ya mean about the highs not being as high as they were.
I got in the habbit so I can keep things slower on my up coming bulk. I'll be more assertive about my weight on the bulk than I was on this cut. Too much of dat bulk fat last winter.Excuses are like a-holes, everyone has one and they all stink
Seize the moment, for once the granule of sand falls, that moment is gone. There is no turning over the hour glass in life...
My Nemesis - the 4" ring of fat around my belly that has been looking up and haunting me far too long. I will kill my nemesis in a slow, painful manner. I am better than my nemesis!

I personally don't know how people can not measure progress on the scale. I mean personally for me, Its hard for me to notice if im losing any fat with the mirror but Im always just looking at my upper body. With the scale, I can notice the high flunctuations but I also notice those Low flunctuations, If you track how much you weigh daily and divide it by 7 every week you can pretty much tell how much weight your losing. I cannot wait for the day I bulk. Weighed today 176.8.. I personally would say my LBM is around 145. I wonder if it'd be possible to go from 17% BF to 10% during this competition

i've never suggested a goal weight to anyone before, but i noticed you've been hovering around 228 for a really long time.
sometimes it helps me to set the least aggressive goal possible, less than 1 lb per week. at your weight you could aim at maybe... 1 lb per week? if you set today as your starting date you'd weigh 212 by December 8th.start where you are

Glad it works for you. Too often if I have a bad night's rest, stress levels are high, didn't eat/drink enough, then that fluctuates the scale and really starts to play tricks on my mental state. So for the sake of sanity, I'm just sticking to my plan, and will probably weigh myself again in about 2 weeks.
