Serp, you can work on posture... I can tell you're sticking your butt out (srs) it's not just big. Need to relax/pull in the hips and not stretch abs. It will help with your back problems, my lower back used to feel strained, corrected my posture now it's fine.
Basically from the looks of it your erector spinae is too short (stretch it) and your abs/hip flexors are too long/weak (strengthen them and pull them in).

Well I'm not saying it isn't big, but it's also sticking out. I googled it, it looks like anterior pelvic tilt. (obviously exaggerated in this pic)
Try to correct it, it will help with your back problems.
If you do a lot of deadlifts and squats and don't stretch much, it's only normal your body starts taking that posture. Do you train abs as well? Should try to maintain balance between the two (between agonist and antagonist). Just giving advice here cos you've been complaining about your back and now I see what's going on.Last edited by justanothagirl; 12-30-2012 at 09:21 AM.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around the use of a FitBit.
My friend recently started cutting. (Beginning of November) and he got one for Christmas. He also uses MFP. The Fitbit connects to MFP and it how automatically updates his calories burned. The program allot him 1850 calories and that is what he eats. The Fitbit shows that he has used 500 some odd calories a few different days. How does this apply? How would you apply it? He isn't planning on using the calories burned but what exactly is the point other then motivation to move more? Other than motivating you to move more, (walking/jogging) how is the information useful? I read that the things don't work well with bike riding and lifting either. (I ride and lift so it would be useless to me.)
If you calculate your TDEE and set up a plan to lose 1/2 pounds a week what is the point of knowing exactly what the thing thinks you burned? (outside of motivating you to move more) To me it seems like a toy that gives you information that you really don't need. I tried explaining it to him, but he didn't understand, and I think it is because MFP is set up to add calories back in from exercise which I find dumb. The day to day calories burned and allotment of calories you can eat (many people seem to eat those calories back and think that they need to to lose weight) isn't all that important in the longer term.
Aware me please.

I think some people just really like their gadgets. I could see some value in this thing (for rare applications), if it could possibly be 95% plus accurate, but I don't see that being all too likely given the way they work.
I suspect it will provide some short-term enthusiasm, but it will wear off quickly enough. "Eating calories back" hasn't seemed to work all that well for me, at least when fat loss was the main goal.

Man cutting is hard... Not only am I hungry. I can just feel my LBM melting away. Is it bad if I hardly eat any protein for 1 day? I only have 300 calories left and I wanna fill them with ice cream...But haven't had anything with protein today. Yesterday was high protein tho.

It is really important that you take in enough protein each day... protein helps with cell repair and growth, so will help you to maintain your LBM.
A cut should involve an overall reduction of calories in your diet; you shouldn't replace the calories from protein with those from fat and carbs.

Thanks, I hate supermarket ice cream and our local ice cream place (they serve italian ice cream in the city center in the summer but are closed in the winter) sold ice cream in containers to take home this week for christmas, it's more expensive but their ice cream tastes soo good so I got some... I just want a small serving now and save the rest in the freezer.

Serp, your posture is poo poo. I used to stand the exact same way and literally thought I had a "black girls a$$". My family all said the same thing so I accepted it. 3 herniated and 2 bulged discs later........ I started working on posture and really focusing hard on making sure it was good. I have phenomenal posture now and it makes all the difference in the world in both health and appearance. I still have a big ass, but it doesn't stick out and actually looks pretty nice if I do say so myself.
You can accept your bad posture and work on it, or deny it and continue having back problems. Your call.1175 @172

In the pic you posted you don't tho. Honestly I just want to push your abs back to make your back straight seeing that pic (srs lol) but who knows it might be the angle. Still i wouldn't hurt to take a look in the mirror and see if you can possibly relax your hips more and make sure they aren't tilted. But it's upto you.

sigh, i can see in the mirror that i have perfect posture.
Bad posture = people that are sedentary.
I can put my legs to the floor and touch my chest to my legs, palm to the floor standing up with ease, etc..im flexible and and my musklez are built up nice and strong.
I just took a pic and have the perfect posture.
But again, crappy posture = weak everything.
Anterior pelvic tilt = crappy abs, you cant have crappy abs when you are fairly strong, and its super noticeable.
Me = perfect posture. Big lats, narrow waist and big hips and ass will give the illusion from the back but my posture is perfect as evidence in the pic i took. I wouldnt post a pic if i had embarrassing posture (which is easily fixable my moving your body).
Also purposely walk around with chest elevated, looks way more confident and stronger.
also wear big pants because my nuts get smooshed between my thighs, making it LOOK worse, but its not, i have perfect posture.
edit: also know about stretching, posture, musculature, and kinesiology so im already educated about that stuff. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?
