Why I hate living in the deep south (from a guy who has lived here for years)

Yea Columbia and Charleston were both awesome places to live. Maybe R Kansas, Mississippi, Bama on the other hand... But IMO Georgia, SC, NC are all great from what I've experienced.

Facts about living in the south. Take as you will:

1) A lot of fat people.
2) Slow drivers
3) Many drive beat up trucks
4) guy harvey, shorts, and sunglasses around neck
5) also, Ralph Lauren
6) Some good looking girls
7) A lot of black people but they usually live among each other
8) Not many asians (east, south, whatever) or latinos
9) Southern accents
10) talk slow as ****
11) Met a guy yesterday that sounded just like popeye
12) Girls get married at really young ages, like 17, 18
13) SEC football
14) Fried food
15) Nothing to do
16) People don't really hook up with random people at bars (they only associate with people they know)
17) If you have no friends you'll be lonely as **** with nothing to do

19) I am on bb.com because i am back in the deep south for the summer with nothing to do.

oh and also, yes, i do have friends here. But they also have nothing to do.

Lived in Texas my whole live, traveled to europe, new york, etc etc. People hate the south for no reasons. Except our public school systems do suck if you go to a majorly minority school but that's the same as any other school in the country. We do have good colleges and hot girls Op just wasn't looking around because he hates life.
also there is alot of fuking brown people, Asians, etc. The OP must have lived in the middle of fuking nowhere of course he's not going to like it.

Well, it is humid and hot as ****.. but I still work an outside job and when I was a kid I spent just about all day every day playing outisde.


I also see a **** load of hot girls all the time at work (both customers and employees). There are plenty of fit girls here. Sure there are ugly people as well.. but I see tons of hot girls. Also my gym has a pool area, so there are flocks of hot girls just about every day on the way to the fitness area.. then lots of hot girls that work out in my gym.

Also, your education experience was very, very far off from anything around here. My high school was very normal.

Finally, my county has a low crime rate. To be fair, there is a lot of meth use on the outskirts of the county, but that's a minority. We have very little real crime.

Columbia - meh, 5 points was fun though. Good college drinking grounds
Charleston - extremely beautiful city, nightlife sucks ass though
Myrtle Beach - lmao i was like lmao. nice mall though
Hilton Head/Beaufort - nice history, quiet. Good golfing but ****ty as fuk for the younger crowd

If you hate those people and live in those areas, you should probably move.

I live in the suburbs of Memphis! There is nothing to do (no waterparks, amusement parks). Downtown is ghetto as fuuuuuu. Summer is extremely humid, winters are cold even though it is in the south (snowed 6 or7 times). We only have one pro team( Grizzlies), just started doing well this year. We have the #3 crime in the U.S. Oh well, I still represent the 901, because the suburbs are actually really nice (not many brack people).

Glad I live in Tennessee. The northern southern states (TN/KY/NC) are more progressive and affluent than the deep south. Especially in the cities (Knoxville TN and Asheville NC are more progressive and liberal than Austin IMO).

Besides Atlanta, Athens and Savannah, Georgia blows. And besides Charleston, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and south/central Florida, the deep south blows. With that said, I used to live in Chicago and I can't really tell which one I like more. More to do in Chicago, but much safer and cheaper here and not nearly as brutal winters.

Living in the deep south has severely limited my dating life. I am not into Black women and it is not like the Black girls down here are Alicia Keys or anything, just a lot of Moniques. Find it very funny when people say the Northeast lacks diversity because the south lacks major diversity. I go to Little Rock, mainly Blacks and Anglo Whites, we don't have many Italians, Scandinavians, or anything, just straight up Anglos. I went to a high school that was 90 percent Black and middle school that was 94 percent Black. Having lived down here I realized Black people can be pretty freakin racist, verbally especially.

I mean I get frustrated living down here. I want to date a Latina, Brown girl, or something but I don't even have the opportunity to ask one out often because we don't even have any down here. Freaking conservative kunts will say it is "diverse", kiss my azz *******s!

This place is so freakin poor, it is like a third world country, I would have been happier in India than this dump. Wanted to play football in high school but the good high schools here like the sciences ones did not have football, football dream shattered. The crappy ones did but parents were against me going there, lots of rednecks and gangbangers in those schools, visited it with family one time, some kid threw a rock in my dad's direction, called him a "sandn*gger" and ran off.

Wanted to get into a decent university but no opportunity for that. School I went to had no ECs and I was constantly told an 1980 SAT score is "Ivy League" level by my counselor.

Top college dream of Columbia, Harvard, Yale, and Stanford = Dead
Football dream, not NFL or even NCAA but just putting on a helmet and playing the game = Dead

I just pray to god that my dream of marrying that beautiful Brown lady does not die as well but if it does, I will be single and just adopt a kid instead. Phuckin hate this place.

Sounds like you just live in a completely ****ty area and are incorrectly assuming the rest of the south is bad too. I grew up in Louisiana and SC, nothing like what you described. Solid schools, great athletics. (My public HS had a a good number of people go to ivy league schools and puts out quite a few D1 athletic prospects every year) No more racist than anywhere else in the world. Warm weather. There are poor obese people but get that everywhere. Tons of great looking girls, plus it's warm so less clothing.

There's bad places everywhere. Some of the worst places to live in the US are up north; plenty of terrible places in Michigan, Conn and Mass. Again sounds like it's you and that ****ty area as opposed to the 'deep south'

Well how much more do I have to persevere? I mean I never even had the opportunity to show my full potential because I went to high school in places where we were put out in trailers and I could not do work because the teacher couldn't teach. I did not even go to a normal high school man. No football, no sports, no diversity, really small class size, seriously, sh*tty district.

Maybe all of the south isn't like that. Heck, I wouldn't mind living in Atlanta but still this place took so much away from me.

Dude you just need to get out more. I live in Nashville and I always find chit to do. Beautiful scenery. Clubs are always bumping but they are rather small though. Met some pretty dope chicks. The diversity is lacking but if you look hard enough you will find them. Make some new friends. When all else fails friends + alcohol + lake in the middle of the night = memories for life son.
