01-03-2013, 02:55 PM #1112Friday night. Date night in Miami. Every night is a date night in Miami, and everyone's having sex. But for me, sex never enters into it. I don't understand sex. Not that I have anything against women, and I certainly have an appropriate sensibility about men, but when it comes to the actual act of sex, it's always just seemed so undignified. But I have to play the game.

I like to think that a volunteer army wouldn't fire at American citizens. I'd also like to think that no Officer would give that command. Honestly, I do feel safe from my own military. In fact, I feel safe because of our military.
Then again, I'm sure the students at Kent State had the same thoughts. That wasn't all that long ago. The 60s were full of riots, assassinations, and all sorts of horrible things. I can remember having real discussions about whether we were headed to another revolution or not. Of course, that didn't happen but we didn't know it at the time.

Hell yes, I don't need black suv's pulling up in the middle of the night.
Did you actually go where I think you did? Are you claiming the murdering of so many people was just because they disagreed with their government? Funny how someone who claims to be so educated can be so damn ignorant and outright stupid.

In every society in the history of the world there have been the collective (the majority) and the individualist (the minority). The collective will mimic what they hear. They will willingly and happily strip away everyone else's rights "for the good of the nation" (or tribe or kingdom or whatever). The members of the collective will not listen to actual reason or logic. They know only propaganda and slogan, and the more you try to reason with them, the more frustrated you will become.
What the members of the collective never even stop to think about is that the only way to maintain the collective is through force. What chaps my hide more than anything else about the whole situation is that the USA used to be the last place on Earth where men like John Locke and Frederic Bastiat fantasized about in their writing. We were there. We were the ideal of liberty, but we no longer have that kind of liberty, do we? We are now subjected to the whim of the crowd, the collective, the hive. The hive who has no conscience and no heart. The hive who loves regulation and bureaucracy because it "will make us safer".
Cowards and simpletons, the whole lot."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1
Also, taxation is theft.

Aha.. Good to know. Because based on your logic and 'reasoning,' gunowners are all criminals. You have implied that having guns equips us to be murderers.
Now let's use the same logic. You are a woman; therefore, you have a vagina, correct? Does having this magnificent organ 'equip' you to be a prostitute? No, of course not.
(You're not a hooker, are you?)This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Our laws here are:
- No automatic weapons
-No handguns (without a special license which is rare). Off duty police can't even carry theirs.
- No BB guns or paintball guns are allowed either. You will be arrested.
- Only guns at a certain length can be purchased and licensed here (forgot the length but shotgun territory)
- You cannot take a newly purchased gun home until you have your safe installed securely in your home and it has been inspected.
- If you say in you application you want the gun for protection, you are denied your license. You have to say it is for game shooting.
- Your gun can't be loaded ever and the only time you can shoot a person is if they are in your bedroom only. If someone breaks into your house and you shoot them in your living room, you are screwed.
- Anyone caught with a handgun gets 3 years automatically and a year for each bullet they have.
- If you transport your gun to a shooting range, it has to be empty, in a case and bullets stowed separately.
I have a few police friends, but one in particular is a high ranking officer (25 years on the force and in a special unit). We talk basically everyday and when he is on duty, he stops to my house and checks it out. If he is off and he l ows I'm away he will send patrol cars to check my place. With all of these laws in place which are enforced, he said that it would amaze the general public to know what is on our streets illegally. They have even confiscated last year a handgun with Belgium engraved on it that was fully automatic and used ak47 bullets. Blew their minds so no matter what laws are in place, people find ways to beat the system and only so much you can do. Personally, I've never owned or shot a firearm in my life. All I have is a bat here and that's it.My Bahamian Photo Album <'))><

I am posting on here because I was PM'ed saying that people were saying "where was I at" and why I was not posting in this thread anymore.
Now while I don't need to answer to anyone (especially this VOXEX a$$h0Le who is insignificant to me but thinks negging me is somehow suppose to hurt me, f'cking idiot get a f'cking life outside of the internet) I will say this; What would be the point of me dragging on a discussion that 1) I already stated how I felt and 2) I will not change anyone's mind no matter what I say or vice verse?
Although after reading this drawn out thread, a lot of people have made some really good points on both fronts and I also want to give props to lotsudeva for standing your ground although most here are against you, big ups!On the list for Bannukah

Before we get to weapons – I don’t like your notion of “law-abiding citizens”. Today we are law-abiding, tomorrow some of us can snap and become “non-law-abiding-citizens”. In fact, most of the mass murders were committed by people who were not criminals (before their act, of course). And a lot of these were committed by the guns that were owned legally. Either we trust the human nature or we don’t. If we don’t trust the government, then we don’t trust the people. So let’s not make the distinction between “good us” and “bad them”.
Now to your questions. I would support re-introduction of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban targeting the use of semi-automatic firearms, those with high capacity magazines. I don’t own guns, so I cannot tell you the exact model off the top of my head. But, in my mind anything that is capable of killing a lot of people in a short amount of time. Oh, Wikipedia is my friend here:
Semi-automatic rifles able to accept detachable magazines and two or more of the following:
• Folding or telescoping stock
• Pistol grip
• Bayonet mount
• Flash suppressor, or threaded barrel designed to accommodate one
• Grenade launcher (more precisely, a muzzle device that enables launching or firing rifle grenades, though this applies only to muzzle mounted grenade launchers and not those mounted externally).
Semi-automatic pistols with detachable magazines and two or more of the following:
• Magazine that attaches outside the pistol grip
• Threaded barrel to attach barrel extender, flash suppressor, handgrip, or suppressor
• Barrel shroud that can be used as a hand-hold
• Unloaded weight of 50 oz (1.4 kg) or more
• A semi-automatic version of a fully automatic firearm.
Semi-automatic shotguns with two or more of the following:
• Folding or telescoping stock
• Pistol grip
• Fixed capacity of more than 5 rounds
• Detachable magazine.
One of the studies showed that during the above mentioned ban there was a significant drop in criminal firepower. Is that positive tendency in your opinion?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...012203452.html
In the above link that I have provided there are crimes listed in the state of VA (Washington Post is my local paper) that were committed with these weapons. These crimes and crimes like these can be prevented.
I voiced my opinion when this thread was just started because what happened to those poor children is absolutely horrible and it touched something in me and, I am sure, in many here (OP included) , something very deep inside. I don’t usually get into political discussions on forums. I joined BB to talk about my diet and workout, as I am pretty new to it. So I don’t have any intention to troll anything. I feel strongly about this and I have a right to do so, just as anyone else. I will be honest here - usually, you read about a tragedy, death and you feel bad, but then it goes away (maybe I have grown to be very insencitive). But this, I can't get it out of my heart and mind. Just can't. That's why I posted.

Your laws might be well intentioned, because your crime rates suck. As far as places for U.S. citizens to stay clear from (talking vacation here....and why else whould anyone want to go there, lol)? Yep, yours would be on my list.
