yeah it's nice to get my feet wet. did OHP, Glute/ham raises, and pull ups tonight. i was going to do some SLDL but my back was feeling a little weird all day.
these weird random aches and pains i blame on not lifting, so it's nice try and get back into a rhythm. when's your next meet? your total is getting pretty crazyDomicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Yah, on my new program my coaches have me "deload" via still lifting heavy, but cutting down from 5 days/week to 3 days. Even on 3 days, I notice my body just doesn't feel right. Just being sedentary in general for too long makes me notice random aches and pains lol.
Curious, do you ever get any massages, or chiropractic work done? I've been going to a chiro once every 2 weeks, an its been feeling great. I know most of the science says a lot of what they do is questionable at best...but yay for anecdote
Two weeks from tomorrow I'm competing at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.ig: @monkaycrak

i don't get massages or chiro work done. i'm too cheap for massages and i think most chiros are overrated. I personally just think that people should be seeing doctors first, and then finding a chiro if the doc recommends it.
i do believe that there's something to both, though. and if you feel better after seeing them and can afford it, then it's definitely worth it.
good luck in Vegas. what does meet prep require in the way of dieting? it's not as extreme as bodybuilding, but is it pretty stressful worrying about weight for you?
how badly are you going to go crush the buffets after the meet?Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Full agree. I see it as more of an indulgence, rather than a necessity.

There's a lot of noobies in powerlifting that do extreme cuts and water cuts, just to post about it on social media. It's pretty annoying, and somewhat frowned upon by those who are more experienced. Unless you're looking to qualify for Nationals or Worlds, or break a record, it's just harming yourself.
Bodybuilding diets are significantly more difficult. You are actually aiming to lose fat tissue, whereas in powerlifting, it's just about doing some type of witchcraft to your body (water weight) to make a number appear on a scale.ig: @monkaycrak

i had some people over for the 4th yesterday to grill a ****-ton of food. I got a chance to show off my gym and while i try not to take it for granted, it's nice to get some people in to remind me how good i have it in my basement. i've been fanning the spark of motivation for awhile. it's starting to grow, though it's precarious lol.
i'm just trying to balance between enjoying my time off and still having the mindset to get back in.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

been lifting sporadically over the past few weeks. usually just a couple of lifts for a few sets. nothing to write about. been busy with work lately.

for anyone still subscribed, i am still alive, if you call it that. I have been working 12-15 hour days (on average) at the restaurant for 7 days a week for the past month or so. the only days off i've had were Thanksgiving and 2 days over that weekend due to food poisoning and a fever. the stress level is high, though it always is during the holidays and lifting is simply too far down the list of "things to give a **** about" that i have no ****s to give towards lifting lately.
in terms of lifting, i will occasionally go downstairs and do some pull ups. i wanted to start the 50 pull ups website workout, but then one of my manager's had her husband get sick(er) and it's been these long hours since. by the time i get home i just want to eat, watch some tv and pass out.
still, business is good, family is healthy (mostly, they've been a little sore-throaty last week or so), we have money to pay the bills, so i don't want to make it seem like i'm only bitching. one of these days i will be able to hire good people to work so i can devote time to other excuses not to liftDomicron's Basement Gym and Fun House
