Alright....let's get it started up again....
BENCH
255 - 3 X 3 PAUSED
225 - 2 X 8
SET 2
DB BENCH
50's - 2 X 25
NG PULLDOWN - 3 X 15
CG PULLDOWN - 2 X 12
SEATED ROW - 3 X 12
SHRUGS - 100 TOTAL REPS
ABS - 100 REPS
Doesn't look bad on paper but after my 3 working sets of bench, all my assistance bench and assistance work was supersetted. I was gassed and sweating like a mad man in a 50 degree garage. This will improve as it's my first real work session since the meet.
SIDE NOTE: I'm switching up my bench grip to a false grip. We're going to work with it for a bit an see how it goes. It felt pretty good tonight.Better Body Sports

I'd say posting a 385 squat isn't helping either.

Nice work Thad
Does Wade want you to keep your legs wide like that? I think I remember him always telling me to hug the bench with themThe Beast Journey to Elite

Interesting changing to false grip. I think when it comes to the 300 bench it is a mental thing.

So is it only USAPL that doesn't allow a false grip?

Nice volume on weak pressers maxes..interdasting about rules..
1. butt must have contact with bench?
2. feet must be flat on floor?
3. false grip not allowed? - so there is differences amongst associations over there?my workout log -> http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=147657213

Yeah....I look at Bill's (isaku) bench set up as super wide. I feel like I get better drive if I'm pressing my heels through the floor.
Yeah. Different rules for different Feds. Although butt making contact with the bench is the standard in all Feds I would guess (except for Monday Night Gym Bench Bro Fed maybe)Better Body Sports

With Thad's height and leg length, tucking the legs was not working. Part of the bench issue as a whole is the length of everything. Look at how he comes unwound once the weight is racked. Hard to get all that in place.
The suicide grip thing is the silliest thing...I can assure you, once you get to 225, you can wrap your thumb around the bar and if the weight gets away from you, there ain't $h%t you can do to stop it. Noone's thumb will prevent that bar from coming down.
The false grip will help improve lat involvement and actually be easier on the wrists. My bench soared when I went to this grip.Squat: 1,040

Well....shiiiiiit....if false grip is legal use the hell outta it then. I was unaware some feds were not stupid and realize exactly what Wade said in regards to thumb strength.
