    On another subject:

I don't know how the hell I'm going to motivate myself to do the workouts I do now but on a cut, knowing that I'm not gaining **** but possibly some strength. For ~4 months.

Going in there and busting my ass while the entire time I know I'm not doing anything but "maintaining". OMFG

It's one part lying to yourself.
It's one part self-reinforcing because you are looking better/bigger/stronger as you get leaner
    And one part Slayer.

Also, your workout while dieting doesn't have to be as voluminous as your non-dieting workout.

I think some of you are pure evil :-) - Icecream used to my favorite comfort food. Now I hardly ever eat ice-ream any more. I do however enjoy a good dessert once a month ..

On the evening of November 10. we celebrate St. Martins - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Martin%27s_Day

Here In Denmark, Mortensaften, meaning the night of St. Martin, is celebrated with traditional dinners, while the day itself Nov. 11 is rarely recognized. (Morten is the Danish vernacular form of Martin). We eat a goose - friends and family gather. Almost like thanksgiving dinner in USA .. I made the biggest huge italian dessert - Tiramisu - Mascarpone custard - Ladyfingers soaked shortly in strong espresso coffee and Marsala wine - and set in layers - topped with a dusting of cocoa powder. It was really delicious!

Should I just reduce my sets from 5 a muscle to 3 a muscle, and not hit failure as often. Sort of like how you'd train if you didn't just want to waste away?

I seriously don't have the balls to do what I do now on a cut. If I kept doing my 5 sets a muscle thing I do now on 1500 calories there's no way I'd "GAIN" muscle mass so I just see it pointless. But if I went in there and did 3 sets it would stimulate it fairly decently.

Also I do it twice a week so it's 3 sets twice a week for each muscle. I think that's plenty to prevent loss.

good advice. as to the last line, STRONG this. Took me forever to learn this lesson. Keep intensity up (weight on the bar) but cut back volume of workouts and you will do well.

You give the lazy in me hope.

I think I'm going to just do 3 sets instead of 5, and on the third hit failure. (On some things I hit failure @ first/second set so I wouldn't have to do this) Like chinups, I can't even rep 15 on that so I'd hit failure at 8 or 9 and do some negatives.

Well, knowing what it takes to bench 500, I'd actually trade his body then just go on a massive cut. LUL

No the years they fall on workdays - are not holidays. That would probably also be pushing it since we have 5 weeks of payed vacation every year already. - when is it thanksgiving BTW? (I am presuming you are in USA?)

also moore, forgot to mention that if you have to "cut" for four months, its not really cutting, its just being a fat guy who has a lot to lose which is why i suggested you get leaner so when you DO cut....its not longer than 2 months.

Sigh, I finally gave in and got some Kickass Cupcakes (which happens to be the name of the place making them).

Stout Chocolate (with Sam Adams), two Lemon Drops, two Mojitos, and a Pumpkin with Chocolate Chip. With some delicious Maine Ginger Root Brew. I am so going to regret this.

cupcakes the new ice cream round here?

although I do love some good cupcakes, I just don't feel they will ever compare to a good ice cream.

That's probably 'cause they make some boring ass cupcakes in Scandinavia, son. Come to the US of A. We'll make you some creamy, sugary deliciousness that will make you moan like Moore is making love to you. And then, you'll look at a cupcake -- or Moore -- the same way ever again.

I think its probably because I had a horrid muffin when I was younger that made me sick. So anything muffin shaped does not tempt me anymore.

Its true about crappy cupcakes here tho, the one and only cupcake place went bankrupt in my city

Yeah. Nothing wrong with a cupcake, but the ones posted today are kind of sissified, Nancy-boy cupcakes.

    High on decoration, compromised delectation.

Don't get me wrong, I'd eat them. All. But when it comes down to it, they will pale in comparison to what could have been - chocolate cake, chocolate frosting. Maybe some chocolate chips, or even sprinkles, if you want to be fancy and get in touch with your feminine side.

There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

I'm well aware of my situation and my unfinished cut.

    Ps(or more along the lines of the main point of this post);

I'm getting out of this house I'm in, it's full of my parents negative attitude, my parents shady "friends" calling, my parents arguing, bill collectors calling, my parents doing drugs (although It's NOT like heat the spoon and shoot) type of drugs, they do **** like *****, pot, pain pills(arguably just as bad), they smoke cigarettes. I can't stand it.

I get into an argument and get pissed off and end up wanting to leave. After I calm down I'll usually think to myself "maybe I'm just over reacting and need to deal with these things" but it's happened 5 times over again. It's not over reacting it's a real issue.

I need to get my clothes together and figure out what I need to take with my dad tomorrow, so I'll be having fun tonight organizing clothes and random stuff, which means no working out. Weights might not be moved until a few days after so I might only be working with body weight stuff. I don't know; I'll figure it out as time comes.

That "maybe I'm just overreacting and should just stay" thought might be because I've lived with my mom/step dad for years and I'm a little reluctant to leave even though I truly hate most days of living with them. Either way it's going to be done this time and that's final.

I'm just spilling my brain for you guys.

    Good for you man.

I don't want to diss your parents but the fact that you were 16 and like 280 is mostly your parents fault imo. Fuk them.

Having three dogs and not being a fan of chocolate per se, this does not appeal to me either.

Vanilla and citrus flavors over chocolate any day!

Can't say I agree with that.

Damn. Maybe it would be worthwhile to leave, and just start fresh man. But seriously, as Brad said, good for you.

Sometimes a change in environment can do wonders to your outlook and your general feelings about life. Either way, I cannot imagine being in your situation. Mad props on having come this far.

    Good luck, man.
