Nebraska. I like rural America, but just driving through there made me want to rope.

And Wyoming is one place where you'd have to be a HARD motherfukker simply to live there. I have some family back there... they sent a picture showing the snow they got overnight in god damn May. The LOWEST point in the state is 3100 feet above sea level, and the wind never stops blowing. Even just a normal suburban life there would feel like being in a fukking Jack London novel.

Connecticut. Having recently moved out of there, it's just too expensive and the people are chit. I'll sleep in the back of my truck in another state to avoid living there again.

From an outsider, it's funny to see how most of your coldest states rarely get mentioned (Alaska, Maine, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming etc). I take it the low crime rates in those parts balances things out?!

The cold can keep out a lot of undesirables, so in turn the residents are genuinely happier lol. Wyoming is a great state to live in for cost of living, conservative values and still being able to afford a home. However medical care could be better, and if you're not a tradie in the diesel or oil field, you'll probably have a fairly hard time finding something that pays well out here. However it's well worth it, even if you "only make" 50k or less. I was lucky to land my diesel job with a huge company.

Meanwhile they’re only thinking of the borough of Manhattan which is 22 sq mi of a 55,000 sq mile state encompassing a huge portion of the Northeast.

Upstate New York has by far the most natural beauty of any region east of the Rockies. Plus cool down to earth people, low cost of living, laid back environment, amazing food, historic cities and towns. Even the weather is pretty decent besides a lot of snow in the winter.

New York is seriously one the best states in the nation. Take away the Dems and NY would be an amazing place to live in. The problem is currently all the sane people are running away like pussies to Florida.
