Question, when you say first place does that mean who has the highest point total or best record? Is it the top 6 points totals go to playoffs and then whoever wins playoffs? Or are we playing head to head each week to get the top 6 records?

I'm pretty sure best record > everything

Some people reward for most regular season points...but in no Head-to-head league ever, to my knowledge, have the standings been done based on total points.

Standings = records. Wins and losses.

Point totals don't get you into the playoffs.

Top 6 with the best record make the playoffs.
Whoever wins the whole league will get the $105

I figured it would be using the function built into the Yahoo website, but that wouldn't that be visible immediately?

Also, if you really want to be pro-active, you'll PM people who have paid with their draft position after you generate it.

In the commish settings after finalizing teams he can set and change draft order

All you have to do is click generate random order and it will appear on the draft page for everyone, unless your going to do some fancy way of doing it
