I have no idea lol, phucking autopick. I was at an actual baseball game, couldn't get to a computer and my phone doesn't use flash. ah well, I wasn't really committed to that league anyway.

Looks like an auction league. The other guys in the league probably baited these bad picks out for the autopickers and let them overpay for these players. If it's a public league, I would just abandon it because it's not worth the effort

it's not a dick move. You should have shown up for the draft. If it's an auction league and a player doesn't show up, it's extremely frustrating for the rest of the players involved. ESPN sets estimated bid numbers that are usually unrealistic (i.e. I remember last year Pujols going for 80 bucks in a $300 budget auction league because the owner didn't show up).

So, if you want Pujols, and someone nominates him, good luck trying to get him because someone didn't show up for the draft and the computer auto bids him up to the "x" amount.

it wasn't an auction draft, it was a standard draft. I just looked. Someone I don't know invited me to join it.

Been mock drafting on Yahoo and I'm having a lot of trouble picking in the late 20's to the early 40's. Most of the hitters in this rank are a gamble/injury risk. Usually, I don't like to take pitching this early (3rd/4th round pick) but there doesn't seem to be many unless I'm willing to reach really far. Here's a pic:



Starting at Puig, most of the hitters in this range look way overrated to me. The only hitters I would take for sure at their ADP are Pedroia and Bruce, maybe Bautista/Upton/Reyes. Been doing fantasy baseball for a few years and this may be the first year I take 2 aces early

I agree; a lot of risk with most of those players.

...except Freeman and Pedroia IMO.

I was the first pick unfortunately--I took Trout then came around and took Puig and Freeman.

I usually don't take a SP until the 6-8th round but because of the reasons you posted I took one in the 4th.

Either Price or Desmond. If you feel the shortstop position is too thin for your liking you should keep Desmond. Price is a good pitcher as well. Myers you should be able to grab in the next couple rounds after your keepers. Myers needs to cut down on his strikeout rate to take his game to the next level.

You could probably get a better return on Grienke then that. Grienke is going around 50-60 range in drafts while the other two are around 200. Masterson has to prove that his K rate wasnt an aberration last year and Ventura has to prove he can be a stud at the major league level. I do like both of them though. Like most trades, it depends on how big your league is and what the options are available in free agency. If its bigger then 10 I say pull the trigger.

Not bad, pitching is pretty reliant on youngsters. That could be a good thing if they break out or that can go the other way too. An outfielder that might break out this year is Oswaldo Arcia, keep him in mind. Probably would replace Sizemore with him.

thanks man. It's a huge league (14 teams)... plus it has Middle Infielders and Center Infielders. My hitting leaves much to be desired but this will solve pitching I think

I feel like the only place i messed up was SS and RPs. I wish I would have gotten Hardy instead of Cabrera at short, but Cabrera will have a bounce back year, I feel.

Iffy. You have too much youth on your team, IMO. I did the same thing the last few years and it didn't work out well for me.

You have some good picks (Abreu, Teheran, Gray, Butler). But why on earth did you take two 3B in the first 2 rounds? Also, Aaron Hill and Gyorko are overkill unless you start CI and MI.

Good draft, got a lot of power there early. Don't really like the Segura (he regressed a lot after the all star break) pick but other then that the team is looking good especially with the hitting.

Rex Brothers and/or pickup Broxton to replace Chapman. Josh Johnson is out for 4-5 weeks. I'd see if I could get Jay Bruce for Salazar. I think you have enough pitching depth to give one up one your starters for a power OF.

I'd recommend it if you're getting 2 1st round picks. I mean that 2nd/3rd rd is kind of a crapshoot. I wouldn't trade Stanton unless I could get Longoria or Beltre. Everyone else isn't worth the price of Stanton. If you can't get either of them, I'd try to get Arenado. I think he'll be better than Middlebrooks.

Jay Bruce for Salazar is ridiculous.

RPs that aren't closing but worth a roster spot due to K rate, low ratios, and/or potential to become a closer: Clippard, Santos, Melancon, Benoit.

1. Cano - Should continue to be a stud, but except a little bit of a drop in value
4. Stanton - Has tons of potential but has been hurt or underperformed last couple years. Plus he hardly has anyone to drive in

6. Jose Fernandex - Very good pitcher, wont get many wins with his run support
7. Trumbo - First half player, dump him before the all star break

11. Cespedes - High upside pick after underperforming year before. Good value here

13. Matt Moore - Control problems are keeping him from taking the next step. Havent seen any improvement this spring
14. Profar - Good upside pick, injured for now

15. Middlebrooks - Dont like Middlebrooks. No patience and is overrated
16. Lawrie - Hasnt done anything special besides just when he came up.
17. Kris Davis - Good pick could be a solid bat
18. Texeira - Has regressed the last few years. Maybe bounce back but I doubt it
19. Lenys Martin - Okay pick
20. George Springer - Will be a bust in the major leagues unless he improves his hitting. 3rd worst contract rate in all of Triple AAA (overlooked by many).

Replied to your picks. How big is this league? And is it the typical categories? Your going to lead in strikeouts with this group.

Disagree that the 2nd and 3rd round are crapshoots, you can get good players. Would you rather have someone, for example, like Edwin (2nd round value) and Wainwright (3rd) or Cano?
