Bumping this for the holidays.
gave up booze a year ago Christmas eve, woke up and felt bad and said no more. Only drank a few days a week but it was a distraction.
Can't believe it's been a year and don't miss it at all.

Today's vibe:
I went through the worst, but I made it out
Like the Alpha Omega, to show me which way it could go
Yeah, he laid it out
I've been feeling so drained over the past few weeks. I have been running on fumes, physically, mentally, and spiritually. But, gotta keep pushing and staying on top of my recovery. I hope everyone had a good holidays. It was nice to think back four years ago and be grateful that I wasn't getting tased and cuffed on Christmas lol.Miscer in recovery: clean date 03/30/22

It's been a good few couple of days although I still feel like it has been taking every ounce of energy just to get up and do something or go to the gym. I've been getting back into making videos, which is helpful as a way to video journal. It's nice just talking about how the day went. I've been building momentum that I am hoping to carry through to 2024. I hope y'all have been doing well and have good/safe plans for New Year's!

Happy New Year's Eve brahs! Do y'all have any fun plans tonight? I'm not doing anything exciting today, but that's okay with me. Today has been a good ass day. I had one of the cute girls that works at P Fitness ask me if I had a good workout today, which I replied yes. And then she said, yeah I can tell, you look like you have been getting muscle. I had a good ass pump in my arms from hitting biceps and triceps today lol.
Do any of you have any New Year resolutions? I am planning on keeping up my momentum going into 2024. I also plan on making more online content, I am gonna try for 1k subs on Youtube by the end of 2024.

I’m not that nervous, but it’ll definitely be a change of pace, my days will start an hour earlier, but will end an hour earlier, and I’ll have every other Friday off. Half my time will be in the “shop” the other half will be in the shipyard. After I got out of the navy I kinda told myself I wouldn’t go back to the shipyard, but I think it’ll be fine.
One thing I am kinda nervous about is if that Covid vaccine mandate stuff ever comes back, I think they were a place mandating it and what not.As above, so below;

Morning *******s on day 9 here, I started doing 2 months at the start of every year after my Daughter was born in 2022, this is year 3 of doing it. I have been doing sober Jan every year for nearly 10 and do sober october off and on. I am thinking of going longer this year or having time ring fenced on the calendar when I can drink. I enjoy it but having it as an option every week kills my drive, sleep and motivation and is getting in the way of me making it so going to try and define or change my relationship with it this year. I am also open to dropping it totally but I think I can have a moderate relationship with it if I put up barriers.

Had Ultrasound today after 5 months of sobriety. Impressions at the end reads" hepatic finding needs further evaluation for cirrhotic change". The man who performed us said your liver looks like its been dragged all over on the harsh surface. Doc recommended fibroscan and blood tests to see the degree of damage because he can't tell if its cirrhosis or not.

Congrats on nine days! Sounds like you have good insight and a good plan for eventual harm reduction practices!
Congrats on five months of sobriety! I'm sorry to hear that you are going through that, I can imagine that this has been an area of anxiety and concern for you. Hopefully after some more tests, they can give you a definitive answer and so then you can take it from there treatment wise.Miscer in recovery: clean date 03/30/22

Hey what's up guys! I hope you all have been doing well and staying safe with this weather! I'm hoping that the gym doesn't close tomorrow so I can get a good chest workout in. I'm a little bummed that I won't be able to stop by and say hi to two of my previous probation officers as I was planning on doing. But, I've rescheduled with them to drop by next Wedneday. It'll be nice to see them and I think it is cool to be going to the probation office on my own volition to catch up and show them that I have been doing well!

Help With Binge Drinking
Any advice? I'm 20 years old in college and for the past 6 years I've binge drank pretty much every weekend, often to blackout. I crashed my car into a tree drunk driving 3 months after I turned 16, I have a couple roadbeer tickets, I've ****ed things up with some good girls by just turning into a degenerate when I'm drunk and being emotionally abusive (I've never hit a woman but said mean stuff and cheated), etc. Both sides of my family are littered with alcoholics (Irish and Slovakian) so I definitely am an alcoholic. Despite this I'm in a really good program and have the potential to do some successful things with my life, I've met an amazing girl who is somehow still with me even after all of the **** I do when I'm drunk, and I want to quit really badly. It's just hard because my two roommates also like to get f***ed up and I'm super susceptible to peer pressure. I want to get sober and I do great during the week but every weekend I fall back into the same routine and find myself hungover on Sunday regretting all of the dumb sh*t I did. I threw away my fake ID but I can still get alcohol pretty much at will and I turn 21 soon.

Congrats! Nice progress!
Good to hear, keep that momentum going!
Have you ever been in treatment, whether that be inpatient or outpatient? Something like outpatient can be helpful because it can give you some coping skills to help with recovery and also look at some of the reasons why you drive. Do you have any supportive friends and/or family that could help you with sobriety?
Definitely worth checking out a few AA meetings and seeing what you think!
There are tons of different meetings and many of them are open, which means you can just show up and attend. There are also a lot of different online meetings too, which might be helpful for getting a taste of what they are like. You can google to find meetings in person and also online. The second a in AA is anonymous, you’re not suppose to know anyone in it if you’re not in it. Just google AA meetings near you and check one out. You don’t need to call ahead to let anyone know you’re coming.
AA will be a good place to gain some perspective.
And a place that lays out steps to fix your current problems.As above, so below;
