@luckster, life Lift are basically Quest bars made by VPX.
And cinnamon quest isn't nearly the best one. Your taste buds better be peppered. Just buy them here, or you can get a sample pack straight from Quest. CCCD and Apple Pie usually rank the top of people's lists, including mine.1175 @172

Where I am going with this is if you, in the age of the internet, where any idiot can and will tweet his or her inane opinion on something, and you elect to get butt-hurt by it, you are doing that because you WANT to get butt hurt.
The reality of the situation is that a handful of semi-retards are upset that a character in their favorite copy-cat book, translated to the big-screen, wasn't a member of their favorite race as they had hoped or expected, and felt the need to express their outrage. Why would anybody give a single, flying f*ck about what these people say? Are they hitting the streets and protesting?
The only reason this is a big deal is because a) idiots exist and this is the internet age, b) news/gossip people need to MANUFACTURE news, making crap like this 10,000X bigger deal than it really is seriously, c) people like you and serp apparently like reading things that piss you off yet are entirely irrelevant to the real world, so you read it and run with it.
Seriously, what can you do to prevent this? Nothing! They are utilizing their god-given right to express themselves as idiots.
I would have no problem finding and posting THOUSANDS of articles/blogs/"news" that would offend me (right down my street there was a church-sign advertising to little kids that they are going to hell), piss me off to no end, or contradict my strongly-held beliefs, and even "hurt" my feelings.

What part of "I've lost friendships with people I THOUGHT I was close to because of their OWN apparent racist thoughts brought out because of this movie" don't you bloody well understand? Yes it is RELEVENT to the real world. I won't even begin to dissect Serp and what makes him tick. That's another conversation that HE can answer himself because I surely can't nor will I even pretend to.
I made one statement about the racism when I mentioned the movie. Someone INQUIRED about it. I posted the article. It started conversation. The end. Reading things to "piss me off" is worlds different than being directly involved. In your myopic desire to prove a point, you overlooked that crucial stated tidbit of information.

Didn't realize that part of the appetite suppressing power of EC is due to caffeine. Ran out of pills and only took E this morning....hungry as fawk! Ended up having to bust out the coffee maker to set things straight.

Is that seriously all you were able to grasp from the entire thing? That its "about race?"
The conversation would be the same if I said "man, I can't believe people got mad this person cast was American" and someone interjecting their opinion that I shouldn't be offended because what people say about Americans on the Internet when in reality, it goes beyond that.(Im not American, just using that as an example)
The subject of "race" is just the backdrop of this conversation. ANY topic inserted in lieu of would be relevant. Of course it gets a hint of "touchiness" because of who *I* am. Don't big it up to be more dire than it is.

It all seems rather petty.

I obviously don't know the history of you and your ex-close-friends but in an attempt to be objective: your close friends insulted who you are; you took offense; end of of friendship.
You should be lucky to have found out their myopic views. Cutting out such friends is just as important as finding good friends.

And that's the error that was pretty much made here, selective reading. Taking conversation out of context changes the entire meaning. Obviously if that's your focus (which was said within reason to a response from something HE said) then yes, you're not going to understand what I'm talking about. It's honestly better to get all sides of the story before making assumptions. Out of the ENTIRE exchange, you find those two words as your deciding factor. Nice.
Me stating that had nothing to do with what you asked, nor was it wasn't directed to you. And yes it was sad, but I feel the same. It's amazing how one simple statement and question leads to a big ball of bullchit.

no, not just those 2 words. your whole sentence
edit: and also, this whole exchange started by talking about the outrage of the Hunger Games using all black actors for one of the districts or whatever. so please dont act like it was never an issueLEO

07-03-2013, 11:28 AM #835
Once again, did you even read the entire exchange? No. You admittedly didn't.
The fact remains, if the topic was something else, it would have gone the same way since the basis of the arguement was me getting "Upset over what people said on the Internet" when in reality it went beyond that.

Me making a statement that:
Down to the last 30 minuses of the hunger games. I can't believe the racial controversy for this movie."
Even though the majority of the inhabitants if district 11 were basically described as being black, dark brown skin and eyes and hair.

Slow your gears. I SAID THAT because of your prior statement about admitting to be the one to ask about it AND then saying you didn't know the history of my friends when you did, so the above statement WASNT directed toward you. No. It had nothing to do with you asking the initial inquiry about the movie and everything past that point was directed to the person I was arguing with.
Bullchit because one line and one inquiry obviously lead to this. That's what I mean.
