Gonna send a carepackage to my best friend in Trashcanistan.

Need some ideas. I got everything he likes/wants, but I feel like there's some more room in the box. Is there anything fun/useful you have gotten/wished you had gotten while deployed.

How does 5.56 FMJ do in terms of stopping power?

inb4 bro science again, but while there are exceptions, the round is weak. Heavier grain bullets exist that have apparently done well, though I don't know of any accounts of those rounds with human targets. You'll find a lot of chit on the internet with ballistic gel and other tests saying the round is more than powerful enough but (in regards to standard military load like 855 and 193) in reality it's generally lacking a lot of stopping power. You can ask any combat veteran and they will tell you it is a weak round. If that's not enough you can look to the statements of some of our nation's fiercest warriors like ODD members Howe, Shughart and Gordon or our most deadliest sniper, Chris Kyle and they all sing the same tune. The round does the job, but it's still weak in comparison to other larger rounds like 7.62x51.

You can also ask CdtCox, I'm sure he'll tell you after his last deployment.

whats the legality of taking long guns out of your car to bring in to your apartment? I ordered a case and it should be here next week sometime but I dont know if I should bust my AR out of my trunk and I dont want to freak people out in my apartment complex lol.

I don't think this is legal in Cali, but growing up when I would go shooting with my dad, we would load the guns into the trunk of his car from the garage and we usually threw a towel over them while carrying them. I'm about to move from one apartment into a new one while looking to buy a house and I'll bring in a few guns (rest in my safe that is being stored at my dad's house) using this method. Everyone knows a rifle case and it's easier to just carry them under a towel.

Send porn. Not some Playboy chit either. Don't send soap or other hygiene products. Chances are if your buddy is living at a place with running water he is living at a place that has the ability to buy those things. If not don't send soap in the same package as food. It seeps through and fuks up the taste BAD. If he doesn't have running water, send baby wipes as it's the next best thing to a shower. If he does have showers then he can use them to clean weapons.

Food wise send beef jerkey, sunflower seeds and gum.

If your friend isn't a fukin asswhole he'll share whatever he got. Anything he doesn't want he'll let other dudes have so no, nothing will be wasted. I don't know the living consitions he's in but chances are he at least has a generator and a way to charge laptops so send a CD of the latest hits or of some music he likes.

Couple of potato stories from the range yesterday:

-Kid with brand new Delton and a scope trying to zero it at 100 yards, is so far off his shots are missing by 10'+, so he takes the scope off and starts shooting without buis.

- A guy asks the rangemaster where to find 9mm and rangemaster says online is okay but shipping is very expensive and tells him best bet is probably reloads from a gun show.

I got the cheap 20 dollarish one. I se it dry but its sealed and I think if you took care tightening the lid you might get by with wet, I have no need for this though. Im not worried about mirror brass. Just clean with corncob.
