Im starting to get obsessed with Golf.
Started in 8th grade and played on and off because of expenses but its getting easier for me to afford it now.

I own a white head Burner 2.0 driver i got for mad cheap from a teammate.
ROSSA daytona 1 putter from back in the day that i still love.

Looking into getting a set of irons between 300-400 bucks.
Looking at the burner 2.0 set, the COBRA s3 maxes, and some Nikes. Does anyone have any ideas/opinions on those?

i have a superrr cheap set of irons from sports authority that costed like 150 bucks for the whole set of woods irons and bag...lol

Im still pretty intermediate of a player, still inconsistent with my short game. All i can do is ****in mash the driver every time but im sure here on BB.com most people are like that.
id try and demo the irons, make sure you get the right shaft for your swing. my guess is steel stiff. Personally of those three I'd go with the Taylor's or Cobra's. Both will be relatively easy to hit. Depends on which Nike ones you are talking about....I dont know much about Nike except when I demo'ed them a couple years back they were very ordinary...but again there are lots of different models.

EDIT---Baby Gunz beat me to it!

awesome. Yeah I wanted to try them at golf galaxy in florida but they didn't have either. I most definitely will get stiff steel shafts.

I hit some forged irons though, Mizunos and Titleist AP2s and my god did those feel nice. I'm not ready for forged irons though nor would I pay so much considering I don't really deserve clubs that good yet. Might invest in a lesson or two

Thanks for the input guys, ill keep you up to date.

My hockey coach who shoots like a 6-7 handi helped me with my swing too later on. I essentially don't move my hips at all, use all upper body. Need to hit the range and use a whole body fluid motion more.

I'm a hockey player in a former life....it takes some work and lots of practice time to keep the hands quiet and swing like a golfer and not like a hockey player playing golf.

I use the mp68 and they're good, but feel too light in the head. looking at the new titleist ap2 and it's much more slim with less offset. the next clubs I get are going to be professionally fitted so I can get every little thing exactly as I want it. gonna wait for the new titleist 913 woods to come out before I do that though.

How far was the ball plugged? In Hawaii I had a couple balls sink completely so I looked up the usga rule and it was an unduly lie where you could pull ball out fix ground and replace ball. But the ball was completely sunk into the ground

You get a free pick and clean, it is handled same as any other free drop. Just want to check with your playing partners/opponents first...basically make sure they see the plug.

Stop hitting your wedges so damn high and you wont have that problem!!

yeah its not super difficult tee to course, the things that make the course play hard or easy are the pin placements and trouble with the deep pot bunkers and all the angled lies you get....even in the fairway.

Since we are talking rules I got a question that happened at this course. 18th green is a blind second shot..you can see the pin but the bunker and elevation actually prevent from being able to see the ball on the green. I hit PW into the green and it appeared to be a pin seeker...but couldnt see where it lied. one of the guys in my 4 some knocked his second shot into the front greenside bunker,(still not able to see my ball) so as with etiquette I waited for his sand shot before walking up to green. Problem is his sand shot landed on the green and apparently his ball hit mine as we saw the bounce of both moving unnatural different directions simultaneously. Now no one saw where my ball landed or lied. The greens were hard so my PW didnt leave a ball mark. I am confident I was inside 10 feet putting for birdie before the incidental contact of our balls. (go ahead make a joke I got money on Stig attacking that one). Golf is a game of honor, but had no visual of where my ball actually was...behind hole, in front of hole, tap in birdie not sure. So I played the 20 foot as the ball lied and 2 putted for par. And no other members saw the ball on the green until we got into the club house and one of the guys that was eating said he saw it and I was tight....too late now

What is the correct play here as far as placing the ball? Did I make a mistake not going ahead to my ball to mark it? Im just all over not sure what could have been done different.

Witnessed a hole in one today. I was the only one to see it. The two at the tee box thought it went over the green. 69 yr old phillipino haha.

Really cool experience, watched it travel the whole way.

yeah no one saw it...it was a friendly round like $10 Nassau so no big deal...just like to learn for when that situation arises in a real match or tourney.
