Anyone who knew the GOP knew better, as I did. I said the next big battle he was going to have would be with the GOP, they're almost entirely corporate whores. I've been saying for eons that they will never end Obamacare, they love it because they could run against it but had no intention of actually doing anything.
It's interesting to me to see people who have been so critical of the GOP excuse them in during this, to put blame on Trump for not being able to work a deal with them. Nobody could, unless they only cared about special interests and big money donors. It's why Obama can work perfectly with them. Any establishment politician could. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

There are hospitals already doing this. This isn't a foreign concept.

I fully agree that Congress is useless
If Trump really had such a great plan like he claimed, he could rally the people to get behind it and force the hand of their legislatures. For all Obama's faults, he understood this and did what it took like many presidents before him.
I'm convinced Trump has zero plan and zero clue at this point. This is a really weak move. Hypocritical and I'm not even convinced he has the authority to do this.Training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

LOL at your neg, obviously you're too stupid to realize the reason why insurance COSTS so much are that the COSTS of HEALTHCARE are out of control.
For the cheap seats, hospitals are out there that do this, and they don't take insurance.. and guess what, it's drastically ****ing cheaper!

There are doctors already out there who do post their prices on the door, which you've seemed to ignore or miss my post above yours.

Elohel if you havent realized by now ACA fukked us so bad there is no fix. Theres only the attempt to prolong it as long as possible before it utterly fails and 10s of millions lose healthcare when insurance companys go bankrupt. The best we can do is put bandaids on the hemmorage that is obamacare until it dies.

You are pointlessly trying to defend a poor business practice here.
Yes, the price may change based on variables, however that doesn't mean that no up front pricing is possible.
I promise that if you want to have some type of elective surgery (maybe you want new perky boobs) that you can get an up front price quote. The surgeon will likely make that quote based on the price of the implant and the expected length of time for the surgery.
For most procedures the amount of time needed isn't going to vary that significantly.
And if you are talking about something like a surgery vs. a sonogram the hospital should be able to give an estimate with rates for various factors:
$XXX per hour for OR time
$XXX per hour for surgeon
$XXX for anesthesia
There is absolutely no real excuse for expecting patients to just hand over a blank check for their care.

"You could, via Executive Order, direct the FTC to go after medical providers of all stripes for refusing to publish prices, declaring such an action to be a deceptive practice and thus in violation of Federal Law and Regulation. Every single business we deal with daily, with the exception of health care, posts prices and thus allows us to shop before we buy."
Lol. Medical providers are getting the shaft by insurance companies as well. Just LOL if this guy doesn't think the insurance companies are the number one undisputed issue with our broken healthcare system....
At some point we started equating healthcare and insurance, and that is where we screwed up.
Edit: BRB, publishing a price but with no way to know what insurance will or will not cover for final approval. Lol. Plastic surgery and a few other areas are the only straightforward priced areas. The rest get wrung through the insurance just like we do.Last edited by PeaceWithin; 10-12-2017 at 04:38 PM.
