Yes ,the wonderful iron lady is gone.Used to have Augustin Pinochet round for tea,supported the Khmer Rouge,was against the ending of apartheid
in South Africa,said Nelson Mandela was a terrorist,and sent a task force to the Falklands,only because it was politically expedient to do so.

Interesting, because she was vocally opposed to apartheid as well as being opposed to sanctions against them to facilitate change; her approach was more of an attempt to encourage them to change through means other than the country's direct economic sanctions, at least as I understand. A little more complicated than "against ending apartheid."

She did not label Nelson Mandela a terrorist as far as I know but viewed the ANC as typical of a terrorist organization, not an entirely unreasonable assessment, given the Shell House massacre, for example, and that the ANC was doing the best it could to maneuver for political power at most any cost like the rest of them. So, your statement isn't quite accurate here as well.
