That's like saying the law of conservation of energy is invalid because you can alter your metabolism.
Noooooo, an altered metabolism still abides by the laws of physics, just like a calorie (unit of energy required to heat 1 gram of water by 1 degree celsius) is still a calorie. The TEF still abides by the laws of the universe.

Pretty much irrelevant IMO, might as well start worrying about the pH of your stomach, how well you chew, how much enzymes you are producing etc.
