OP - glad you're still at this job, I remember when you posted the thread and were thinking of quitting. Don't get me wrong this job sounds awful, but looks like you have no work to do. Just wait until you get fired so you can collect unemployment. You will most likely get fired. If you are there for over a year look for a different job and only resign with a job in hand. Wouldn't spend over a year year and a half there if they don't give you substantive work/pay increases.

Found out when we started talking about why we left our last jobs earlier in the day.

She asks the boss what her hours are, he says "well, Jon's here til 6, so you can do 9-5 if you want (hour lunch)"

Asked what he was prepared to do about payroll. He said he didn't know. I told him I'd meet him at 40k base, if he was willing to give me 9-5 hours too. He reluctantly agreed, shockingly.

So, for now, I'm actually okay. Making more than my coworker, have a short work day with a full hour paid lunch. Not ideal, but much better than 8 hours ago looked.
