I messaged Wade after these deads with a big WTF. Last week I went up to 105x3 on front squats then failed my first attempt to deadlift 225 and got the the 2nd......very slowly. This week I went up to 130 on fronts then pulled 220 (just 5 lbs less than last week's fail) ten times. Not one miss. Then I put on my belt for 225 which I never even bring anymore. I only had it because another girl wanted to try it out. I pulled 225 so fast and easy that I said "What the fuk" loud enough that the girl lifting next to me turned around. I was annoyed, confused, mad....all of the above. The belt doesn't make that much difference. Wade said it was not surprising and that female lifters vary from week to week.POWERLIFTING TRAINING JOURNAL

No, not with periods although, I have found they do count and will effect each lifter differently but, many times do have an effect.
Allow me to be more specific as it relates to Penny.
1st, when I started with her, there was an injury to the point she couldn't squat. It has come back and forth regardless of how careful and how much conditioning we've done.
2nd, the gut issues. This is probably the toughest one. Gut health is tough and even a bit of variance will cause lifting to be inconsistent.
3rd, her training time. I am well aware of this as I have trained early a majority of my career. This also lends to inconsistency.
By and large, I have found with the lifters I have coached, many being female, the tendencies are to see variances. I can't say why and have nothing scientific to base that on other than my experiences.Squat: 1,040
