IRL wall of text not concise question just throwing this out there feedback?
So my MIL got our daughter a handful of 30 minute "dance classes". Long story short she could only get to two of the four that were paid for, a week apart. The first one was a failure as she had a fit about everything and didn't want to be in the room with just the other 'student' and the teacher (one way glass that is like a mirror from the inside so she can't tell we are in the hall). Second time she loved it, going around the room spinning around and dancing while watching herself in the wall mirrors, etc, but she didn't understand (or do) what the teacher wanted, as in, she wouldn't stand in line with the other girls, stand on a specific spot, hold hands, etc. She is 25 months old. She was not directly interfering with the teacher or any of the three other girls and the other parents certainly did not seem to care in the least (quite the opposite). The other girls were 32+ months old and one had been going to this place since 18 months old.
The teacher basically did not want our daughter in the room if she wasn't going to follow the program, so my wife had to take her out of the room while she was dancing by herself over in the corner to her favorite Frozen song which made her cry/mad (this only 15 minutes into the 30 minute session) which made my wife rather frustrated/disappointed/sad.
Is it reasonable to expect a 25 month old at her second 30 minute long thing to go with the program? Is it reasonable to basically kick her out of the room 15 minutes in because she is mostly doing her own thing?
When my wife went into the room (teacher asked her to), the teacher said our daughter wans't following along and when my wife said she didn't understand fully what the teacher wanted her to do, teacher responded with legitimate surprise, as though she thought our daughter was simply choosing to refuse to follow instructions.

This would depend on how the classes were advertised. Was there an age description/requirement? If the instructor holds herself out as the teacher of little kids, she needs to accept that not all little kids are super obedient.
However, if there was an age requirement that your MIL ignored, then teacher is right and you should discontinue the classes.

Not too often, but she adjusts quickly. She was totally fine that second session, just doesn't get to follow the instructions.
But then tonight we put her Frozen song on a phone and she sat down in front of it the way they showed her to sit down at one point during class.

isn't thousand island just mayo, ketchup and finely chopped capsicum/bell peppers? so you're saying big mac sauce is mayo, ketchup and ketchup?
sounds like a normal 2 year old. i don't think you need to worry. she's still learning how to learn at this point, and if she likes dancing around to frozen songs, let her enjoy it imo. she'll only be this old once.
is that moreton bay? (btw, what is it you do? i understand it's selling photos. self employed?).

Good guess. It's about a 20 minute drive. Usually drive to somewhere near the water every afternoon.
re: photography, unfortunately I haven't had any time for it the past 18 months, only IT work. A typical commercial job generally involves 8+ hours out during the day and that hasn't been an option.
The good news is this year I'll have a lot more time free. Have some landscape photography planned once it starts to cool down. I'll head down Waterfall Way, Dorrigo, etc. and then find some nice beaches for some seascape stuff which isn't hard.

I wish I could roll with you mane. Give me cold weather and mountains any day.
Speaking of rolling, how is the SRT going this time of year? Switched to Blizzaks or studded tires?
Moreton Bay only a little further down at Victoria Point.
I was out at Wynnum a few hours ago. Always looks better at high tide. Took a phone shot coming down Adam, Please St.

a. There's a big difference between a 2yo and a 3yo. There's bound to be a difference in their attention span / ability to follow directions. If the teacher doesn't know this, then they set the class up wrong.
b. Even 3yo's who can follow instructions are basically just tumbling around. LOL @ teacher/parents/anyone taking anything they are doing seriously.
c. Buy your kid a CD of songs and let her prance around in her room and save everyone a lot of time, money, and aggravation.☠ By reading this post, you have agreed to my negative reputation terms of service.

Fortunately there is plenty of documentation supporting this one, unlike the one you are linking that didn't even have news stories.
