Anyone have experience with the Honor Guard? Need to have a job and bring in some money while I wait to be called by the police department. It would be a honor to serve that duty, but I don't want to be put on orders too long, where they will interfere with me getting into law enforcement. How long are these orders typically?

typically a tough gig to get orders for because it's fairly easy work once you get trained. The hours can be crummy at times, and the weather is either too hot, too cold or pouring. If you don't enjoy spending hours getting your uniform beyond perfect, it's not the gig for you either.

Budget cuts are hurting a lot of the honor guards.

Speaking of losing stuff, down +20lbs from my highest weight this spring (was 245). Hopefully I can get it down to around 200-210 before fall.

Evals weren't glowing enough apparently. All OK, none great. Generally that has been fine but not this year apparently. My boss now is very happy with me so he said my next oer will be great so I should be fine in the long run, still sucks because not making it was the last thing I expected.

Yes it was brutal, and will be getting worse.

A number of my buddies didn't get picked up on our list this year and have very respectable files. Mine is in Feb. I might beg for a Complete the Record OER at the last minute if they can support an ACOM. I am at 66% ACOMs, another wont hurt.
