Here's some stuff that I didn't see anyone put in their Best of 2013 list but were favorites of mine. Most of these were posted awhile back. Don't really have time to dig around for artwork and write reviews, but if you're into the boom-bap you'll dig all of this. As a lifelong hip hop head, some of these tracks blew me away. A lot of it easily rivals the best of 1993.

Roc Marc - Pimpire/Merci
Shame on u bob for not giving Roc a nod!

Roc's tight, don't get me wrong. I give him mad props for producing his own ish, and generally like his production (better than his rapping in most instances), but none of his stuff is really all that transcendental for me. His stuff is consistently good, but rarely great imo. I feel you tho.

Epidemic - Somethin

I think we agree on this one.

Doppelgangaz - Hark

Doppelgangaz are tight, and I was admittedly late to hop on their bandwagon. Hark was really dope and probably could have cracked my top ten. Haven't listened to Peace Kehd yet, so I need to get on that.

Cole - Born Sinner

Dis is one of those albums that came out and me and mah friends bumped non stop.

I kid. Not really a huge J Cole fan, but I do appreciate him giving TLC some work. Creep is my jam. Dat horn. (No homo)

Joey Bad - Summer Knights

Summer Knights was dope. Maybe not as good as 1999 which made my list last year, but definitely close to cracking my top 10.

Ghostface - 12 Reasons

Ghost did his thing on this tape and I love his choice of producers. Consistently good album. I think I prefer the Apollo Brown version for what it's worth.

Bronson - Saab stories / BC2

Bronson's dope and I dig most of Harry Frauds production work. Some dope tracks on each, but neither were that consistent of releases imo.

Gibbs - ESGN

One of the biggest disappointments of the year for me, seriously. Big Gibbs fan, but I think he totally missed the mark with this album. I mostly like his laidback stuff but definitely appreciate many of his past bangers. Gibbs did his thing, but most of the production was unlistenable imo. I know it's not a common opinion, but there it is. I do like that jam with Spice-1 though.

Prodigy - Einstein

Never been a huge Mobb Deep fan, so I didn't ever get around to checking this out. I will eventually.

Czarface

Whole album was tight. Deck doesn't get the love he deserves and 7L&E always come correct.

Big Krit – King Remembered In Time

The production on dis was bangin, rivaling ESGN (probably better)

Dom Kennedy – Get Home Safely

Haven't listened to this. Will check it out tho.

Pretty good list. I definitely need to check out those Funky DL joints. Not sure how i missed those. Substantials album dropped in 2012 though. I know because it made my list last year
