****off lahey
lol. Played disc golf with old college crew from orlando it was a lot of fun but I'm terrible at disc golf. Go figure harder you try to throw the ****disc the worse the throw is. I'ts all about fluidness and technique which I greatly lack. My buddies are rather good and were competeing with eachother hitting birdies and par's all day. My ladyfriend and I battled it out for whose worst and we ended up givng up on a lot of holes. I only lost 1 disc to a water hazard today. fuuuuuck lol.
on another note... kinda sun burn and EXTREMELY dehydrated
AM weight: 248
2pm weight: 241
but its a fluke. few hours walking in the sun will do that...
time to replenish and hydrate.. see if I got energy to get my back workout in.Recovering fatass

Thanks but damn..
this is getting to me lol.. EVeryone thats seen that vid posted ehre and on another forum and i made a misc thread... all anyone says is "you had couple more reps" or "dude you had 20 more lbs in that lift" "damn that was fast"
and I'm just like to myself "wtf do these people think about deadlifts??" I mean i pulled a 30lb PR LOL. i guess it was fast, but I think people so used to grinding out deadlifts. I try to not grind out deadlifts and lately PURPOSELY tried to be explosive.
I follow george leeman(babyslayer), pete rubish & hickson on youtube and i kind of adopted some of their philosophy. those dudes train assistance like bodybuilder, deadlift explosive as they can. Every warm up is basically a speed pull. And then Mr Clint darden (from house of biceps/elite FTS) on youtube made a video about speed deadlifting and how you gotta approach it with balls and attitude make noise, scream, get into the lift. it's so true.
Leeman made a post about how he approaches his deadlift and all he thinks about is his brother passed away years ago and I try to do the same. I harness all the pain and energy I have from my mothers passing last fall while I lift. because it's the only few seconds I can just crush the bad thoughts/feelings. the ultimate release. There was an insane amount of raw emotion put into that lift.
Also, I walked around for TWO weeks, even posted in this thread... "I can pull 405 any day now". Man, I knew I could. I was so mentally ready.
anyways where I was going with this is: I think people don't deadlift with attitude/too used to grinding hard ass DL's and struggling.. **** that. Learn to be explosive, work on technique/assistance stuff and when you KNOW you're strong, CRUSH IT.

yes my leverage sucks. I'm built to squat and bench. short arms/small hands/long torso/short legs
it didn't take me very long to reach 405 squat (depth was okay) while my sumo was only 355 at the time. that was in november 11' . then hip injry my squat sucks and lost lots on my sumo pull but still got 385 last fall.
Conventional is by far my worst leveraged lift... and thats why I'm training it harder than anything else. It's a long pull for me and my gut really gets in the way (however this is improving nad helping my deadlift by being leaner).Recovering fatass

Cardio
decided hit up the gym this morning .. did a set of 3 pullups (hairline to the bar, nto the greatest range of motion), dips and weighted dips for the hell of it.
Played a game of "21" that lasted FOREVER (basketball for you noobs)
Got into it with couple hispanic dudes, they kept trying to play defense on me hardcore because , I guess they think it's easy to prey on the bigger-slower guy. Ball'd pretty hard regardless but kid threw some forearms when I did a spin move... Had to let him know whats up. Got pissed off " Yo we playing 21 not one on one man. cut that **** out, If I get another forearm **** will go down. I DONT PLAY THAT ****" got kinda alpha and pissed. these 19-20 year old kids were kinda intimidated.. I wasn't trying to be an ******* but had to set them straight.. I'm kind of a hot head when it comes to sports anyways.... have gotten into quite a bit of 'scuffles' on the court in the past.

went in to squat....
last week it felt great @ 205 for 5.
worked up to 185 x 3 and felt like death, lower back flexion like wo
Squats, just not for me. I really shouldn't be deadlifting if I want to fix my hips, but I dont know what I'm gonna do. Probably keep deadlifting and hope losing more weight will help me fix my anterior pelvic tilt.Recovering fatass

Oh, I use to take basketball seriously back in the day. But never raged or tried to fight anyone over it. Then again, maybe I was the dude with the annoying defense since I have made some people irate in intramurals before lol.
manlet for life, brb have been able to bench 225 since I was 151372 @ 205

It's not like I outwardly fight people dude its that after playing league basketball/street ball for years growing up, and playing in serious places.. games get intense. It happens. I mean I'm talking 5-10hrs of basketball a week during that part of my life. I even kept active and played a lot as a big guy so people think it's alright to run into and push the big guy because thats what they do in the nba right? I swear people take different attitude vs big guy in basketball
I wass like a 200lb 5'8'' freshman on the football team and bench 225 pretty easily, my dad had me benching @ liek 13 years old. Fell off into the wonderful world of drugs somewhere after 15 to like 19 where I accumluated tons of mass (to 300+lbs).. and not good drugs and it was not good massRecovering fatass

Lol. I use to play basketball every day after high school and between classes in college. Except I use to be 130-150 lbs. I had no shot so I went down low and pounded it with the big guys instead. Long arms and vert of peace + actually hustling got me lots of offensive rebounds and put backs but also lots of elbows. My nose doesn't point straight and if I stick my fingers in my nose and feel that middle cartilage, one side is concave and one convex. I sometimes wish I could go back to playing basketball like a madman ever day.
Not very strong for your size brah. 9th grade I was like 115 lbs pushing reps with 45 lbs, 55 lbs, and 65 lbs for my working sets.1372 @ 205

290 easy. Missed 300 after it(got out of the groove and could not lockout, didnt rest long enough after 290) few months back. Have not attempted 1 rm since november. I have been attacking weaknesses in a bodybuilding style for the past month and now after this 1 week pressing deload/ let my wrist heal I will be gearing up to smash 315 after a few weeks of work.
my overhead/incline pressing has gotten stronger, my accessories and tricep movements stronger. I think I PR'd on dumbbell's. Lot more back and forearm strength too. I'm pretty optimisitic.
worked up to 225 x 5 really easy/light the other day, been doing speed work lately. Did lots of pause work in december. Doing weighted dips with 25lb DB for 5-8reps. I feel A lot more stronger than when I crushed 290 and got yucky with 300.. so I just got to get back to benching and fix some technqiue and take a run @ 315.Recovering fatass

I played varsity bball as a junior in high school and pickup every weekend. I took out my anger issues on the court and fouled out pretty much every game. I was tall early so I had an advantage in the paint, and a decent outside jumper so I could rotate to small forward, but I played defence like a crazy person and always had scraped/bruised up knees from hitting the floor scrapping over stuff all the time. Ahhh basketball.

Its febuary and it's time to get more structured with my lifting.
Since I can't squat I want to focus on my bench/deadlift.
Thinking of running coan/phillipi deadlift program & coan bench program
If my wrist feels good enough, i'll start bench tomorrow. need a couple days to rest hamstrings & back before coan/phillipi it is a tough program.Recovering fatass

yeah I hope so!
Anyways, Classes start on monday and I've got (3) 12 week classes so I have to get more structured anyways. Febuary was fun filled with ****-around-itis with my training but some of it was useful. some overtraining (maybe 2-3 days rest since december 20ish). Lots of sessions didn't get logged. Pretty happy with the progress though. very curious to see what my bench does.
kind of planning it something like this
day1 - Coan/phillipi deadlift day
day2 - Coan bench
day3 - Back/legs/accessories
day4 - coan bench
day5 optional accessory day because i just like going to the gymRecovering fatass
