Hehe! That is just the stock photo on the Atlantis 3 tiered kettlebell rack. I'm not buying the kettlebells from Atlantis.
I'm still trying to decide which brand and which ones to buy. I'll pick up a 12 for a woman visitor. Probably do 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48
I'm checking these out also:

Including technique scoops? If so, let us know how you like them. Atlantis, as usual, kind of has their own way of doing technique scoops. They appear slightly smaller and closer to the rack then other scoops. But they also appear to have a rubber top liner which would help save on noise and wear & tear.

Yeah, I think so...he stopped even taking calls? That's pretty lame...leaving things up in the air like that. I think you'd get more than that. I'm getting 15-18% and mine is not 8-9 pieces. Congrats on the Poliquin rack though, what color? Pretty sure I'm ordering this week...I appreciate you even introducing that rack to me man.
Also man, did you get a look at the adjustable bench by Atlantis? If you did, did you like it? I'm not so sure on what 0-90 bench to get.
Grats again though man

For the Heavy Duty one, right?
Hm...I got quoted for $2400 for the rack and $960 for the bench - didn't really even quote my shipping, just said maybe $400. I could just pick up the yellow one off the floor as well...haha.
It's a badass rack for sure and it's the first power rack I ever used @ the local Y.

I believe it is for when you're doing squats without holding the bar. You can grab the squat handles if you don't want to be entirely hands free. It also kind of helps you from overarching and leaning forward when doing no-handed squats.
At the 1 minute mark on the pit shark video he uses squat handles in the same way as one would use them with a bar (roughly). Just before the 1 minute mark he does the same squat without. You can see how using handles gives a little more control to the movement.

yep 8' heavy duty, just reconfirmed everything plus they deliver and build it for 365. I haven't heard back from legend, unless they really blow the hammer strength price out of the water, I am all but sold on this, unless when I actually pull the trigger prices change. 3 month build time, will probably order a rack by end of week.
The thing for me on the atlantis is if they are this bad before you order, how are they going to be once they got your money and a problem arises. To me life fitness is a little more of a known quantity.

I just read this whole thread, omg- it's amazing. Could we get more pictures of how your set up looks like? Although it kinds of looks like you have machines spread out all throughout your house!? Have you started using this equipment yet or are you just preparing to set up a gym?

As one of the other posters wrote, it is not necessary as many of the KB moves are done with just one KB. Of course having two KBs of the same weight gives you the option to incorporate them in some of the exercises like dumbbells.
One of the posters mentioned looking at Troy Kettlebells. They are about $1 dollar per pound, which is quite cheap as far as KBs are concerned. The Troy Kettlebells only come in LBS and they are not a single cast design. The handle is welded to the body of the bell. With that design, there are questions of durability.
That said, Troy Barbell has great quality control over their products, which is why they have a very good reputation. Their economy of scale allows them to sell their KBs for bit cheaper price too. Since it is a Troy product, the design of their KB does not concern me as much as if it came from another manufacturer.

It looks like you are pretty stocked up! Do you have a workout plan to make use out of all those machines?
All you need now is a ninja warrior obstacle course in your backyard.
(See youtube under "Makoto Nagano achieves Total Victory" or "Makoto Nagano Ninja Warrior").

Sorry I must have missed your post until now.
I can tell you that I think 8' 6" is about perfect. You can hang longer ropes on it is one thought. Its nicer for taller people as well. However, you need space above it for pullups and room to go above the rack for some manuevers. I am hoping to have 10' ceilings in my next place. Ideally I can build a house or room in the future which will have at least 10', preferably 11-12' ceiling for the gym room I guess. I'm not sure what other advantages are for a taller rack, but I would have preffered the collegiate to be about 8' 6" as well.
I will not have their benches until the order arrives, which I believe won't ship until the end of the week of the 14th, and then 4-5 days transit. So at this point I'm not expecting delivery until the 24th or 25th of March.I was told it was shipping the first week of march, and then cryptically the week of the 14th, and then the end of the week of the 14th... The wait is painful!!Last edited by HealthNutMD; 02-22-2011 at 09:30 AM.

I'll take complete pictures a month from now once everything arrives. Yes, everything is spread out all over the house. I do use the equipment, but I really need the Atlantis stuff to arrive to be a compete gym. Certainly the Strive Leg extension and the Cybex VR2 Tricep extension will be nice to have around as well.
I'm doing cross-fit and running also. Random group or yoga class as well...

Hey man, np at all. What was your up charge for making it taller? I'm thinking I might make it 8' - make it look more beastly. I think I'm hanging a rope from my ceiling along with all my bags and one off a tree. I'm only 6-6'1" myself so I don't need a huge one. I can see the appeal either way.
So, did you also order an adjustable bench then? I'm ordering the B-177. I think it looks really nice. Well, my order goes out mid next week and supposedly will be back to the rep by "mid-March." The Montreal manufacturing plant is only a few hours from my rep and I'm only a few hours from him so I think I'll get lucky on transit and shipping time. I hear you on the wait...though, you've had it a lot worse than me. I'm completely stoked for March already...haha. It's okay though, my gym isn't going to be ready until then anyways.
I'm actually thinking about visiting the Atlantis headquarters, it's quite close to some areas I rock climb at and it's only a short trip across the border. I'm going to see if I can set something up later this year.

Good for you man, either way you're getting a nice rack. I really like the Heavy Duty myself as well. I'd personally take it over the Legend and I was originally looking at Legend racks.
I've had a good experience with Atlantis so far, so I can't really say anything to that. It's unfortunate you had a problem though. I will continue to update on my experience with them.

I have the Collegiate 0 - 90 and Elite (signature) dumbbell military press (Elite FTS/Williams Strength (Fat bars/Pro strength and speed). The B-177 seems very good and in some ways is probably better than the collegiate 0-90. You couldn't go wrong with either, they are both top models! I ordered the decline/flat http://www.atlantis-fit.com/en/p/pre...-bench/1/1/71/ Since I needed a decline bench, and it does flat to decline. The Atlantis stuff looks awesome in person. It is much beefier than the pictures show. Very elegant: reminds me of LULULEMON. Very detailed.
Yes, go to their place in Montreal, you can demo EVERYTHING. They have a huge facility and I hope to visit sometime.
The charge for the rack mod is 250.00... minus discount, so about 225.00. Not bad! I'm geting a whole foot taller for only 225.00, so that is great!! I'm going to be pumped to see that baby come in at 8' 6" - 8' 10"

@mroc So I pulled trigger today on Hammer Strength Rack, adj bench, dip bar attachment, extra hooks, and reversible hooks, very excited.
I went with 8', I have 9' ceilings, so the 9 footer was too big. I believe the 8 footer is actually 2 inches bigger than 8 '

Yeah, I think so too...both benches look great. I'll definitely let you know how it is. I was actually looking at that decline bench as well - you'll have to let me know how you like it. I'm probably putting another order in later this year. I have a decline, but when I fully upgrade everything I'm getting a new one.
Yeah, I definitely am going to go up there...I will likely put in another order for some stuff later and want to look at the stuff in person. It's much easier for me to drive here than go to the Central US to see some of the other manufacturers. I think it'll be quite fun, it's only about an hour past the border.
Haha...wow, I thought it'd be more. I'll inquire about that tomorrow before my final order. Also might do a two tone (black/white) paint job. I also think the outrigger beams will look badass on the Poliquin. I hear ya though...I can't wait to see this thing get unloaded at my garage! Hopefully we'll get our stuff around the same time.
So, you guys think I should go 8'?

Congrats man, badass rack! You're definitely gonna love it. I might be picking up a used Hammer HD adj bench for cheap from the local Y as an extra bench. Was it a 3 month build time then?
I'm just really struggling about keeping the rack at 7'8" or making it 8'...haha.

They think the build time might be less since I got the order in before the big industry meeting out here in the bay area, they said after that build times would start to stretch out.

I have this same rack and finally get to set it up and start using it soon.
Did you get the flip up spotter stands that are optional with the rack?
You are a lucky man. I have been trying to find this bench used to go with the rack I have so I can use the Dock N Lock system, I think I may have to breakdown eventually and buy it new from Hammer.

Yeah, it's my old gym and my buddy who still works there told me they're upgrading some equipment. Probably get it and some plates nice and cheap. I'll know in a couple weeks if it's for sure.
So, I put in my order today and I'm already feeling the wait, haha. I guess I'm not used to the whole wait time that is usually accompanied by gym equipment...yet. The second or third week of March is when I'm told they'll get the stuff.
It's gonna be a pain in the ass waiting.

I went to another gym in my city but the only piece they had from Strive was the plate loaded leg press, I did not realize that this has the 3 different settings as well. Since I was doing back I did a couple sets at the end of my workout and it had a good feel to it, a little more hamstrings but not to much. Its kind of a pain to get in and get out, but reminds me of the Cybex squat press more than a linear leg press, however the Cybex squat press is alot more natural feeling ( I prefer the Cybex over any linear leg press ). I only used the middle setting ( normal ) and the seat had 4 setting heights and found 3 worked pretty good for me.
I know you have the Alantis leg press and power squat coming in and those two will more than cover your basis.
Here is the cam on the Strive leg press. I might switch over to this gym as its only $3 more a month and has far better equipment than my current gym.

Spoke to Yosi today. He has been doing a great job. The modification to the C-111 power squat is going to be EXCELLENT (extra-wide footplate mod).
I have pictures of the 40 degree LEG press with the foot plate mod (extra wide).
I have lots of great things to say about Atlantis so far:
1) They added the Polequin rack, accessories, 3-tiered kettlebell rack without delaying my order.
2) They made the height of the polequin rack 102" (8' 6") for only $200.00 upcharge 250 - discount).
3) The added footplate mods only cost $150 (about 120.00 with discount)
4) Everything is shipping out next week! Probably next thursday or Friday... I'm expecting to receive everything no later than Friday March 18th, hopefully the 16th or 17th.
5) Yosi has been kind enough to send me pictures, and has also sent me detailed "assembly" PSF files on the equipment. He has also, at my request, sent me layouts of how the equipment will fit side-by-side on PDF files to help with the planning process. This has been ongoing and I forgot to share that with people here.
Here are some recent pics of some of my equipment waiting for me in the warehouse for shipping. You can see the footplate mod to the 40 degree leg press. The good news is that the added footplate to the C-111 powersquat will be 100% flush with the top and bottom of the 3 standard footplates.
