made it home from chicago last night about 730, i beat the snow and ice, so that was cool. my son's team won all 5 games and the champions in their division, plus we had a great time.

the only bad things were that i didn't have time to lift at quad's gym and i didn't have time to stop at ndmike's.

deadlifts in a while in my basement.

Animal - Congrats on your son's team as well! Awesome.

Jfindon - It's good to be back!

Last night blasted some strict press, shoulders, and tris. Tonight time for a little pulling.

"I don't have time to lift, I make time"

Once, at my local gym, I went into the locker room to take a leak. There was this little hairy, naked guy (probably my age) with it swinging down to his knee. He was really showing it off and smiled at me (WTF?!?) and winked. Me, being me, told him out loud, "if you want to impress me with that, have it hold up a barbell with 2 plates a side."

Hey Capt'n good to hear from you too. Not much new hear, just trying to get back into the JM's.

Did a few pulls and front squats tonight, felt solid. Hopefully setting some PR's in another 6-8 weeks.

Hey there EQ Crew. Pretty good lifting going down here lately. Hit a new rep PR on my DL's this last time, 380x6. I felt like I might even have one in the tank, but didn't want to destroy myself on week 2 of 531. I've got some video I may try and get up later. Also, I tried deficit pulls for the first time a few weeks ago. They are brutal, but I'm already getting better at them after only 2-3 sessions.

Congrats to your sons team Animal, that's a great accomplishment hat can never be taken away from them.

Also wanted to give y'all a heads up - Anyone who uses (or wants to use) bands in their training, be sure to check out www.bandpegs.com before placing an order from one of the big dogs (Elite, Iron Woody). We've got some of the best prices for bands on the web, and Band Pegs are currently on sale in case anyone is interested in that as well.

Additionally, if there are any EQ crew members looking for a pair of 2" x 2" bandpegs, and want to use them to bolt something down (to plywood or into concrete) let me know. I can send you a pair pretty cheap (test design that doesn't fit the base plates, so this is bolt down only).

Not much is new. I did however FINALLY find a used sissy squat locally. I hadn't checked for a while. The ad was 2 weeks old but luckily he still had it. I'm picking it up tonight.

    BTW JF looking huge.

If I can't make the grade for whatever reason at least I'll have tried.

Slowly building up to 3 moderate half hour runs a week in addition to two long bike rides. Once I'm comfortable with that I'll add a session or two of intervals and/or hill sprints and very gradually increase the mileage on the other runs.
I'm not far off where I need to be for the strength tests, half an hour of circuits 4-5 times a week hopefully improving that. The better I do in the strength test the more leeway the recruiters supposedly give you for your running time, which is my current weak point.

Need a max of a 9.2 minute 1.5 mile time or preferably better. Long way to go!
I'll be there with ya buddy! I would love to be in that kind of cardio shape. Next month I am going to start training for a 5k run at the end of April - THe "Warrior Dash" in my sig.

    Talking

Well, I got my sissy squat. FINALLY! No more contemplating building one with a rope or chain, or welding a square tube one myself. DONE!

It's nice and heavy duty commercial grade I'd say. It weighs a fair amount. There is no adjustment but I don't think it's even needed unless you're obeese and have 15" shins. I gave it a test run. It feels great. I don't see it replacing squat or DL. It feels like it isolates the quads a lot more. It will definitely be a nice exercise to throw in the mix.

We were supposed to take the kids tubing Saturday with some friends and their kids.

Its going to be too cold to go tubing......<12 degrees F.

I didn't even know it could get too cold to go tubing.

I miss my pool......I can look at it, but looking at that somber cover with ice all over it makes it even more depressing.

I lost around 50lbs about a year ago and I got so tired of everyone coming up to me and asking me what "pill" or "diet" I was on. One day I told a few people that I was on the "milk does a body good diet". I said "I drink 2 gallons of milk a day and nothing else". No joke 2 days later I got a text from a buddy of mine saying
"I just don't understand how you drink all this milk, I feel bloated and have to sh*t all the time!"
After I laughed my ass off I kinda felt bad. People just want the easy way out. No one wants to know they have to bust their ass in the gym to lose fat or build muscle.

Good luck, few of my good friends do an 8 mile run/assault course thing once a year or so called 'tough guy' over here. If it's anything like that you'll have a blast.

    LOL Genius.

Reminds me of the 5/3/1 quote about drinking a lot of milk, 'grab some baby wipes, it's gonna get messy....'

That's awesome, people always want the easy way out.

This is my favorite part of that chart--

Does it require hard work or motivation? (flex belt)NO, you do not need to exercise or break a sweat during a toning session. (louie simmons cage)YES. Requires time to exercise and hard work for a good toning session.

    No work? Sign me up.

ha, this took me a sec keetman. tubing down here has a whole different meaning

Makes for a lot of fun when there's a cooler full of beer, good looking girls in bikinis, and rapids involved.

Yea, I've done that tubing too......that's in the same league as the pool right now....depressing.

Two more months before I open that pool....probably 3 before we swim......maybe.

I was just thinking the other day how these two products could compare to each other.Sure glad someone did the homework for me.
Anybody know how a prowler and shake weight compare?
