Much. There is also the option to crop depending on whether or not you wish to showcase the location or not. If only you had been around a few million year ago. Imagine what that photo would be worth today? You could entitle this one -- Fascination? Although the background could very well be a white wall.

I dig it, without the context it isnt as cool tho.
Lived in STL for two years, terrible people, great place if that makes any sense.
Well the trip to South Dakota is over Thanksgiving, and I am not sure I can get a new body, wide angle, and wildlife zoom lens by then, so im trying to decide if the d80 would work for now, and I can put the money into a better lens, or just not be broke over the holidays.
Could you explain the autofocus system to me? 39 points of focus rather than 11? more focus points the better? I would think that would make it slower.Rugby Crew

For example today i got rear ended by a guy and sat in this one field next to a farm for like 3 hours. All iw as thinking was wow, how beautiful the frame was.
Minus by totaled car.
if i had my camera i swear...."Learn from Yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow"

So as I said a few days ago. I just got a Rebel T3i. finally I had some time to go out and take random "get used to my camera" shots of a good buddy I grew up with.
Sadly, I had no idea I would be taking the last picture of him ever. he died today in a car accident brahs. Im so torn up about it. this **** hit my hometown HARD bc he was a very well liked kid that just turned his life around. its not fair at all. do NOT fail to tell your loved ones how much you love them srs. and next time your taking a photo, realize how powerful it can become in the blink of an eye. unreal.Boxer.

Still in NZ or back home?
Love the lighting and mood of this one.
Only thing I would change in post is to remove the highlight creeping into the frame at top right. Edit.

I agree here with this critique..
It is also a beautiful shot. Sometimes I wonder how this shot would of been close up, you below him and him looking up from the back.
If this is a self portrait...this may of been a moot point.
Kind of begs the question though...it was just that the sky, the scene, the settings, the color seemed so beautiful. Do you believe that certain weather patterns / moments in time can be redone again on another day? I'm not trying to poke, just curious if anyone had experience shooting the same location twice and getting the same or very similiar conditions with everything. Could be very possible...just never tried before
I'm very sorry to hear about this. This is why photography could be seen as powerful as it captures someones possible moments like these.

Chaotic deaths (meaning in this instance out of our control, ie plane, car, accidents and the like) of someone young can be the most devastating. :-/
Hnnng, could be epic with some processing adjustments, love the added dynamic of a person in the frame, I hnng hard when great landscape shots have a solid point of focus in the foreground.Rugby Crew

What's up guys? Haven't been on bb.com much, or in here much. Hope you're doing well.
Godyssey - very sorry about your friend.
I just posted some recent pics on my blog here:

I think this is my favorite:
I spent some time watching these little bugs. It's amazing that they can just walk/scoot around the surface of the water like it's nothing. Very cool.

Water tension on the surface allows critters light enough or those able to distribute their weight correctly, the ability to walk on water. There is a lizard that can run on water using the same principal. This effect is easily demonstrable when you fill a glass full of water and the water forms a dome around the top lip of the glass, surface tension keeps it from spilling over the edge. #jesuswasawaterbug.

Can't wait to get a dedicated macro lens. I just use my 15-85 for everything and crop it down to get closer, which is obviously not ideal.
Yup. It's one thing to know that though and another thing to see the imprints these bugs make on the water, up close, and how they operate.

Dominik,
D7100 and above come with weather coating/protection of some sort, how important do you think this is, or how big of a difference will it make? The 5300 looks like a solid first camera choice for me, but I tend to be rough on equipment, as long as it isnt raining hard, I typically keep shooting, any opinion on this?Rugby Crew

d7100 is not just weather resistant. but has a semi-metal chassis {survive good bit of abuse}, dust resistant
d5xxx, d3xxx are plastic bodies.
d7100
lower level bodies like d5200 and d3200
