Doesn't seem to work with sounds... I get it all the time when I'm getting my haircut and I used to get it when I was a kid and some girl was trying to get something in her pen purse or whatever.

I got it once in an exam and I couldn't write my hand was all weak, kinda sucked.

Ummm... does anyone else get it from the random survey people who call your house and get you to answer basic questions on tv habits, politics etc...

I always say yes and do the 20 minute survey (or whatever it is), I lie down on the floor, turn the lights off and just listen to the questions. Get a different person everytime but most of their voices give me this ASMR feeling... especially the slightly foreign ones.

Anyone else get it from a similar source?

I think using earbuds is like an requirement for ASMR. I find it hard to get comfortable while I have some bulky on-ear headphones cause you can't even lay on your side or anything.

Dat comfort and sound isolation > Anything else when it comes to ASMR

TL;DR - tingly, nonsexual feeling you get in your brain and sometimes rest of your body when you are in a very relaxed state and experience certain triggers

When i was in kindergarten/1st grade and we had story time or w/e, i remember sitting down with all my classmates and we would like draw invisible pictures with our fingers on each others' backs. this is when i first started experiencing ASMR. In later years it was caused by hearing my teachers' voices that i found soothing, and also some sounds like pencil on paper, watching people draw, etc.

There are tons of youtube videos... i mean TONS that are dedicated to ASMR... drawing, soft speaking, touching objects, etc.

I have never seen any thread on the misc. about this and was curious if any of you brahs know that feel. yes it is a bit homo sounding but when you experience it you will HNGGGGGG.

Only just discovered this had a name. I've tried to explain it before, but people just looked at me weird. First became aware it it when I was really young (under 5) and my grandpa would show me how to do something (work on a car, whittle a stick, whatever). Rarely get it now (I must know everything, ha), but every once in a while, when someone is explaining something to me, just to me, it will happen. Feel it in my scalp and a bit in my gut. Also happens when I get my hair (what's left of it) washed before a hair cut. Weird.
