Sweet plates. Even sweeter is seeing the Zercher lift in action. Awesome.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Dude, your friend got such a nice pick up.
I'd be interested in 4 of those bad boys. I wonder how rare the 45kg ones are. I see them now and again on here, maybe once a year at most. That would be a sweet set of plates to own. I gues she can now load the bar to 1250 & hit a WR squat.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

The 25kg plates are harder to find. I see 45kg and 100-lb plates like this relatively often.

Yeah Atty, I don't think I've EVER seen the 25kg plates in person.

Two sweet sets. The older set appears to be one of the last deep dish sets, from the 50's to 1967 or so. The other set could be late 60's to early to mid-70's. The bars look great.

the seller told me the bars are brass bearing, one spins very well, and the other could use some cleaning. i am uncertain if the sets found a permanent home with me, but i am grateful to have found them. from what i have gathered, it's a little tougher to find these in California.

Who has the York "grip" plates? That is, the older ones from the 50's? And what sizes do you have? I've always wondered how common these are? And if anyone ever traced production numbers? That is, quantities? Years of make? Etc..

Vinko, there is a lot I don't know about York. Can you tell us more about the 50's era grip plates?

Hello Vinko, the last 50's set in the pictures above is mine. i have the complete set of plates with bars and collars. they may be easier to get the closer you get to the east coast, but here in the Bay Area those are not everyday finds. as for the rest of the info, i think the more astute forum members can assist with that information. have a good day Vinko
edit: sorry, i thought "grip" meant dd plates. i am still learning as a i go =)Last edited by eoakland; 06-24-2015 at 07:50 AM.
