If you're trying to patronize my earlier comment then let me clarify.

If your eating at a light deficit then I don't believe increasing calories will have an effect on your weight loss plateau (in that case its probably not being tracked right). If youre eating at a severe deficit (like boombaux was) and you've reached a weight-loss plateau I can see how eating closer to maintenance would result in you losing weight again.

I am not implying to go over your maintenance but rather to eat closer to it for to reduce stress/cortisol levels. It's always been my understanding that stress and weight gain tend to be positively correlated. I'm not 100 % sure on what the correlation IS, but eating drastically less calories than you burn will more than likely make you more stressed.

The success with the method of eating closer to maintenance (but still under) for those who are in a large deficit and have reached a plateau has been documented time and time again by individuals. I'm not sure on why or how it works, but experience dictates that it does.

If you were not patronizing me then this post is just some good knowledge i guess.

If theres science that goes against or for this I would love to see it. I'm having trouble finding either side of the argument.
    Lighten up, Francis.

The particular virtues of weight training are in the discipline it brings to both mind and body, and, if you do it right, it will make you look good naked and do well what you got your clothes off to do." Damn right you will. I mean, if you want to know for sure, just take two days where you up your water consumption and consume <1.5g sodium.

We had a fighter jet hit a house here in San Diego (out of MCAS Miramar) a little while ago and it killed some people inside. wow that sounds so random, crazy, and scary at the same time. Sounds like it would happen only in movies. Good thing my house is like a few miles away from the Boeing company

    friiiiiiday check in.

    357.5

    killing it this week.

I was trying as hard as I could to cheat like crazy today and it wasn't really working. I only went over my normal cutting macros by 350 calories.

I haven't had very many big cheat days, just little slight cheats here and there... so I might smoke a bowl later and eat something gnarly like taco hell to push me closer to maintenance.

45 of 76 weigh-ins are in, so almost 60%. Nine people are on the verge of elimination which might bring us down to 67.

I didn't check in last week, because I was on vacation with my family during spring break. For the week of 3/30/12, I was 209 lbs. Checking in for this week, on 4/6/12 I am now up to 211... thanks to the chicken and waffles in ATL. It's not too bad of a gain considering I didn't workout for an entire week. I'll get back rolling this week.
